The link to my site, I’d love to see a critical review. Feel free to criticise it as much as you want.

It is a weblog/personal portal/repository. I write articles regularly for the weblog, and through my site I have a collection of my downloads, articles I have written for magazines, my photos and scripts.

The front page of my site is completely valid, XHTML 1.0 Strict, and CSS, however, whenever I use a blockquote the validator gives me an error. WordPress surrounds my
blockquote’s with tags, and I think this is the reason. I don’t know how to avoid it.

Wow thats pretty awesome. You should release some sort of resource article or tutorial detailing your process from making a default installation of wordpress into something like that. Awesome.

You might want a <$php bloginfo(url); ?> before the path to the image to make sure you don’t have a directory error.

Just in a normal folder, or your root folder (I think you need to be able to change it’s permissions, but I can’t remember for sure).

This is directly from my CSS file, example at https://avinash.apeshell.net. You’ll obviously have to rename the classes to match your template.

Order of the sidebar items? Well, under your admin panel, go to Presentation > Theme Editor and pic the file that says sidebar, and then edit the code to your heart’s content.

I am assuming since you can “[modifiy] slightly”, you know how to edit basic HTML.

How exactly do you want to store your archives anyway? If /archives/%post_id% is something that is a problem, for the moment, don’t use it.

What are the administration settings that you have for your permalinks? What was in that archives file?

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but this problem happens to me as well, but the strange thing is, when I make a new post, WordPress actually somehow quotes a previous post and sticks it into the comment of that post.

Now while I delete these dodgy comments as soon as I see them, it’s very annoying and makes life difficult…any ideas?

There is a plugin that allows threaded commenting…do a search here for nested or threaded comments. I couldn’t find the link in my bookmarks and I don’t have the plugin.

I emailed you through your site’s contact form.

I put a (solved) in the title, like I do on other forums that I am active on…I wasn’t sure what was custom here.
