Aha, it was the float: right; what did it.
So my next question is, what do you do if you want a right-aligned horizontal menu (aside from extra padding on the left, which wouldn’t be great for extending the menu)?

Ok ok I hold up my hands, it was some margin on a h1 tag.

Seems like the space is more like 20px, as it goes if I put -20px of margin at the top of the html tag.

Not really an ideal solution though.

I’ve tried all the suggestions above, and have managed to disable the admin bar, but the white space is still showing at the top of the page, even after clearing cache and testing is different browsers.

I’ve unchecked that option but am still getting the 28px margin at the top of my site. Weird!

The Disable Admin Bar plugin’s not doing it for me either. Double weird.

OK, I added header.php, footer.php, sidebar.php, index.php, single.php, page.php and my own custom page template. That’s cracked it. Is this a bug as such, or is it just how the plugin works?

Same problem here, I’m creating a child theme and put page.php and single.php from the parent theme (I haven’t got as far as making my own yet)into the directory as people seem to be suggesting, but I’m still getting that error.

Sorry I can’t help with your problem. Really like your site though – did you make a Twenty Ten child theme or your own parent theme?

I think I will start on the twentyten child theme, but still very much open to advice.
