Here’s a mini workaround that I’m using in the meantime:

Start you post in the quickpost section of the dashboard and add the image.

Then “save draft.”

Then go to Recent Drafts, Click on your new draft and your image will be in there.

Of course if you need to do multiple images this would be a pain, but for one it is a good workaround.

I hope a failproof solution comes along soon!

The Capitalizations solution in the settings did not fix the problem for me.

Any other solutions?

There is one other thing too. If you look at my site in IE you’ll see on the left sidebar at the bottom, the Top Commentators leaks into the background color not the white sidebar that it is supposed to be in.

Also if I move that widget to any other location it completely fouls up the formatting of the whole blog, like crazy. If it is not at the bottom things look a mess. If it is at the bottom over on the right hand column everything becomes centered (the posts and all widgets).

That’s why I don’t have the Popular Posts in there yet, because it breaks my formatting to do so.

regarding the execphp widgets, my “Top Commentators” doesn’t look too pretty and if it’s not at the bottom, things get all messed up formatting wise.

so it seems that the issue is with execphp…perhaps.

tried your suggestion but the execphp widget says that the code must be inside those tags.

maybe Otto will pick up on this thread. I’ll give him the link to this.

I use windows not mac, if that has any significance.

It sounds like you need to make your header.php file writable by changing the properties of the file on your server to allow writing. (do this in your ftp client by right clicking on the file, then click on properties, then check off the “write” box.)

After you do that then you should see a save button on your theme editor for the header.php file.

I’m no expert but I think that should solve your issue.

thanks for replying. I’m glad you can see it in firefox. It is stripes of purple orange white etc. hmmm. I wonder if it is just my personal settings on ff? But I can see other sites’ favicons. I’ll try your idea.

result: reloaded header.php for this theme and redid recent changes in IE instead of making changes in Firefox.

Now everything works.
