I have tested this now with
– stock levels controlled at the variation
– hide ‘out of stock’items from the catalog’

I have 1 product with stock in size L, M but none on size S.

If I select filter by size S with the “filter by” widget the product still appears in the search result, however if I go into the product I cannot order S – because its out of stock!

It would seem that filters shows only variations that exist and not variations that are actually in stock then which is what I thought

SO I am trying to find a way to either amend or create a widget that filters by variation in stock or a different method of quickly showing a customer the variations actually in stock

We ‘manage stock’ at variation level and this allows us to have different stock count for each.
And manage stock at product level is unchecked.

The problem is they actually want to show out to stock items in the catalogue as stock comes in and out – just only current variation when they filter by variation.

That said I can see this as being confusing and have tried turning ‘Hide out of stock items’ on but didnt seem to much different on the filters – ie if size s was in stock but not size m, size m still appears as a product which you filter.

May I need to create a search live of live rations and hard link to a variety of these in the shop sidebar.

Just thinking out out loud, its not a pretty solution but might work as a short-term fix

AM I likey to run in to other troubles ? do I hold off or consider a down grade?is there a plan for this t be upgraded? is it a substantial amount of work?

admin css has changed as will so main content is centered and header is left aligned if that helps
