different forums are planned. some of them are supposed to be “read only” for all users except mods and admins, other forums are open for all logged in users AND here the tricky part:

we want to have forums where only member of specific groups (example: students of class A can only write and read in FORUM A and students of class B can only write and read in FORUM B) can write AND read.
all other users to only read.

but yes, the unauthorized groups should be able to see topics and replies but not be able to answer them.

If I understand you correctly, then

Dashboard>settings>bbp private groups > forum visibility settings and change to visible is what you want.

Almost. When the user clicks on a topic to which he has no access he is redirected. I wondered if there is a way that the user from an unauthorized group can only read this topic and doesnt get redirected.

It wasn’t a link on the website. The wp-signup was just leading to the login-page. I fixed that.

Your htaccess rule is not covering wp-signup.php and wp-login.php.

Sorry, i didnt wrote it, but they are covered to. But i just discovered that one url was leading to the login page. Nice. Thank you for the tipp.

I got the following in my htaccess. I thought this would make it for visitors unaccessible?

A SignUp is not existant and we dont have any login advertise on our sites.

The Url is already changed and – like i wrote – secured with an authentication with .htpasswd and despite that the attacker finds a possibility to get to the login form. This is what bothers me.

I thought about it, but didnt thought it would work. But now i will try it. Thanks for ur help.
