Hi, I am having the same problem with the search icon in the handheld footer bar.
I added your code but still do not see the search function working, although the search icon appears. I’m not sure what I’m missing here but thanks for any help.

Hi Senff, Thank you for the reply.
So it appears the Powerpack customizations take precedent over the Child Theme, which I wasn’t expecting. So I guess Powerpack was designed not to be used with a Child Theme.

However, I’m thinking — and let me know if it’s overkill — that I will keep the Child theme anyway. I’m thinking in future (if I can ever get the hang of this), I might want to copy in page templates to edit, and as I understand it, the correct way to do this is to copy them into the child theme folder from Storefront, so they don’t get overwritten on updates. Ditto with functions file.

I still don’t see anywhere where the Powerpack setting are kept and it’s nice to see changes in real time and definitely easier than making changes on the child theme.

So I guess I’ll use both PowerPack and Child theme with storefront.

I didn’t think this was the type of question they would answer and a support forum would be more appropriate? I guess there’s no Outlet support forum on this wordpress site though, that’s why I thought Storefront users might be the best bet.

Hi Ryan, Actually, no. The original plain storefront theme shows image with logo, search bar, secondary menu at the top of the page on white background, before header image:

Then the primary menu below header, like on your Outlet screenshot.

I have some text in the child theme function file, used to work, but since updating it no longer works. I don’t want to hide out of stock items completely but would if I could just hide them on related products.

So weird but after trying to get this to work forever with WC2.0, I decided to upgrade to 2.1. Made a backup, and strangely — without actually upgrading — it’s now working. I didn’t change any settings, I just made a backup. Happy it’s working but confused as to why.

James’s solution worked fine for me in the custom.css (actually wanted the price smaller) but I had to add !important:

.single-product .summary .price {
font-size: 1em !important;
}

OK, makes sense. That gives me a good starting point.
