In reply to: [Darwin Backup] IDK…I’ve just released 1.1.24, which relaxes the permission check (does not throw exception). Can you please give it a try, but keep in mind, you still need admin or network admin permissions to do backup / restore
Thank you very much !

In reply to: [Darwin Backup] IDK…Hello,
Thank you very much for reporting!
It seems that you don’t have core_upgrade permissions. The idea is that people that cannot upgrade site (eg editors), should not be able to backup or restore site, because this way they can get a copy of the site. Can you please check if you are logged as admin (or network admin if multisite is enabled) ?

In reply to: [Darwin Backup] Kudos and question…Hello James,
I’m really pleased to hear plugin worked for you, thank you very much for feedback !
1. Plugins do not add any significant amount of space. It might be you have backups of your site generated by other plugins (or control panel), or some developer files / db dumps, 3rd party software which is not related to WordPress (eg PhpMyAdmin).
2. My personal belief is that ‘W3 Total Cache’ is the way to go. Darwin Backup does not really care about any other plugins, the only problem Darwin Backup in currently has is running at wpengine.com hosting, due to their very restrictive hosting environment.
3. I don’t have a possibility to accept a donation, however I would be really thankful for a Facebook share of https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/darwin-backup/ url or a positive feedback at https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/darwin-backup/reviews/

In reply to: [Darwin Backup] Restore1. Do I have to remain on the restore page after initiating the restore?
Yes
2. If the iPad goes to sleep during restore is that okay?
No, the restore will stop when your computer / tablet goes to sleep.
3. Will you have off site storage soon?
Yes. I’m already working on Amazon S3.4. Which cloud providers? Google Drive, Amazon?
Google Drive, Amazon S3 and DropBox are the first ones to comeWBR,

In reply to: [Darwin Backup] ScheduleIt takes place immediately after you create a scheduled backup, then after specified interval. That means if you added daily backup at 8am, then first will happen immediately, next at 8am tomorrow.
Of course as with all the schedules within WordPress, you need some real traffic that will trigger cron jobs behind the scenes. Any external uptime monitoring service should work well for this purpose, eg https://uptimerobot.com/
Please let me know if that answers your question,

In reply to: [Darwin Backup] Brilliant and so easyI’m really happy that I’ve been able resolved your issue. Also, I’ve created an https site, reproduced your issue again, and can confirm that 1.1.23 should work for behind CloudFlare, even when HTTPS is enabled
Thank you very much for your help !

In reply to: [Darwin Backup] Restore Access DeniedSorry for late answer, I was in transit today. So my bet is that you trying to wget the archive by the link you’ve got in the email directly from the remote host. It should not and will not work like that – it is insecure to allow to download archives of your site, because wget is not authorized in wordpress, or please correct me if I am wrong in my suppositions. The process should be as follows:
1. Download archive to your computer
2. Upload the file to remote server
3. Point your browser to it, you don’t even need WordPress installedWBR,

In reply to: [Darwin Backup] Restore Access DeniedHello Richard,
You don’t need to compress the file, just upload it as is to the /var/www/html/wp-content/darwin-backup and go to the Darwin Backup / All Backups – it should appear in the list, then click Restore.
Please let me know how it worked. Then I will tell you a simpler way to do a restore )
