    Dear Tobias,

I am so glad I found this plugin! I sent you a donation late last night. Since then, I had to mess around with the plugin for hours (I am saying that just to illustrate I circled the problem, no offense!).

Here is my awesome table: https://www.danziger142.de/eigentumswohnungen-prenzlauer-berg/

Once I enable the sorting function, the spinner circles endlessly when trying to load the page.

BUT: If I click the menu item multiple times, then it will load, which is useless but may be helpful?

Thanks a lot for your help, but please: I would have donated anyway (I did before the problem, actually!).

    Thanks a bunch from

    AnDee!

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

With the login details that you emailed, I now turned on the sorting functions on the table from your link above.
Everything appears to work totally fine for me though. I can open the page just fine in both Chrome and Firefox, without any spinners taking forever… The sorting functions also work just fine.

Can you maybe try another browser as well, and also check both when logged-in and logged-out? Also, can you check if you have any browser extensions activated that could influencing this?
If you are still seeing the error, can you maybe give me more detailed steps to reproduce the issue?

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Dear Tobias,

I am stunned by the speed you react to my problem. Thank you so much!

Whenever I clear my browser cache in Chrome or Firefox, this happens!

I logged myself out of WP and turned off “Hola” and “AI Roboform” add-ons – no difference.

I have to hit CTRL+R to make the page/table reappear.

Please do not be hard on me, I am not a programmer…

I would LOVE to have this work fine. Thanks for any further hints!

    AnDee!

PS: It works on my iPhone 4s.

Also freezes on an iPhone 5 which never visited the site. ??

I have to turn sorting off, if it is okay, since we expect some visitors. If you need to “play” with it, please do so anyway!

    Thank you so much!

(I meant: If you need to turn sorting on to performa tests etc., please do that! Sorry.)

I am a bit afraid to ask and do not want to appear too pushy: Will you look into it again, please? During the day, several parties reported that the page did not load on mobile as well as on desktop.

I would be really happy since this is an awesome feature.

    Credentials are unchanged.

    Thanks a lot from

    Hi,

sorry for the delay. I was not at home this afternoon and therefore could not take another look, yet. I will of course gladly do that, but it might not be before Monday, as I’ll be on the road again tomorrow. I’m really sorry.

Can you maybe try to narrow this down in other ways? Does it happen in other browsers? Do you see JavaScript errors in the JS error log console? Does it happen with all other plugins temporarily deactivated? Can you maybe turn off the AJAX loading in the theme?
I’m afraid that without more details and without the ability to reproduce this on the page that you linked to above, I just don’t know what to do ??

    Tobias

    Dear Tobias!

Do not dare to beat yourself up about not being home! No need to be sorry. The table works and looks great – never would hae happened without your plugin!

But I would love to add this sorting feature!

We are glad if you check it out on Monday. Let me come back to your remarks:

    – It happens on Firefox & Chrome (Win) and Safari (iOS and MacOS). Let’s agree on “everywhere”, okay?
    – I have no real idea what a “JS error log console” is, I am sorry.

UPDATE: Okay, I did turn off the “loading transition” im my template backend. Since then, it seems to work fine. So, no blame on your side – as expected. ??

Still, I would love to enable these effects. Can you please help?

No need to hurry. Will donate again.

    Thanks,

    AnDee!

    Hi,

ok, I was able to reproduce this now (the “trick” is to not start on the page with the table for the very first page load).

After that, the table was indeed not loading for me, and I did see a JS error in the browser error log console. That error is the result of how the AJAX loading of the theme works. Apparently, a necessary JS file is not loaded, so that a call to a JS function fails with an error. When that happens, the rest of the JS on the page is no longer executed and the loading stops.

So, unfortunately, turning off that AJAX loading is the only real fix to this, I’m afraid. However, instead of turning it off entirely, the theme also offers a way to exclude certain pages from that AJAX loading (the “List of Internal URLs Loaded Without AJAX” field). I now turned the AJAX loading back on, but added the URL of the page with the table to that field. With that, the fade effect is used everywhere, except when that page is loaded.

I guess that this is the compromise that you will have to accept here, if you want that AJAX loading.

    Tobias

    Dear Tobias,

please excuse me for not replying so far. Of course, you solved the puzzle and the table looks awesome!

Thank you very much for your effort in my cause!
