Now I can see the site, and posts but I am unable to do anything on the dashboard – if I click to update the 2011 theme I get this message:

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 8388608) (tried to allocate 7168 bytes) in /homepages/33/d121895661/htdocs/VegetarianPower/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-upgrader.php on line 1322

If I click to go to “posts -> add new” I get this error:

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 8388608) (tried to allocate 28672 bytes) in /homepages/33/d121895661/htdocs/VegetarianPower/wp-admin/menu.php on line 73

I have 2011 activated, no (0 – ZERO) plugins and wordpress up to date

I can login on the dashboard now but nothing shows on the main site still if I go from the dashboard to the “posts” page I get this error now:

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 8388608) (tried to allocate 40 bytes) in /homepages/33/d121895661/htdocs/VegetarianPower/wp-includes/cache.php on line 508

no all i did was rename the theme folders as you suggested

did that all I get now is a blank white screen on the main site – what next?

all plugins are deactivated by ftp renaming plugins folder how do i change themes without access to wp-admin?

another follow up I also have this error on another blog (www.adammorden.com):

I can access the main site and post pages without disabling plugins but have no access to wp-admin

I updated both of these sites to the latest WP last week and nothing has been done since then.

without any plugins I can access the main site but (and before disabling them the first time I could access the main site even and sub pages even with all plugins active) but as soon as I go to /wp-admin I get the following error:

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 8388608) (tried to allocate 28672 bytes) in /homepages/33/d121895661/htdocs/VegetarianPower/wp-admin/admin-header.php on line 126

and do not get to the login screen anymore. it seems like disabling things clears a bit of memory which is then immediately filled by the next php action.

already did then I get the error above:

That solution from google does not help me as I have not changed my DB prefixes – Any other ideas?

Thanks for your help. It ended up being a plug in problem. as soon as I removed wp-spam free from my plugin directory everything works great.

I re followed all the instructions and now the site is up but I get the following error on going to https://www.alchemycrossfit.com/wp-admin (when I first went there it said a WP database upgrade is required, click her to do it, so I did and then it said database upgraded successfully, and now it errors out without letting me into WP.

Here is the error:

Error 500 – Internal server error

An internal server error has occured!
Please try again later.

please any help to get this fixed would be greatly appreciated!
