In reply to: Sitemap Page?alphaoide: There are no plug-ins there to do what I want. Everything is Month-based instead of category based.
Jinsan: That sounds nice but I have no idea how to do it ??

In reply to: My New Theme – Any Thoughts?Thank you for that great reply! ?? I will be adding some more articles soon from the old site, so that should give me a bit better feel as well.
I will look into the Firefox issue. I had been testing with both so far, and that was the last thing I changed so I guess I forgot to test ?? Thanks for the heads-up.
I will consider cleaning out the footer. I feel that I probably need _something_ there or it will look a bit off. I will see. I know I really don’t need the query count, or page generation time either. It might be confusing as well to some.
The 8-ball answer was just something silly I put up there. I was either going to change the random text to something more fitting (and trying to make it less-lame than most random quote scripts), or simply using it as a basic site description. Since it looked a little empty up there on the index page. So I am not married to the idea of keeping it or anything ??
Once again, thanks for your comments! They have been insightful ??

In reply to: Multiple blogs on subdomainsWell I already had my main one up, and I simply created two subdomains, and installed a new copy for each. I then moved my template files for each one (actually modified the color scheme for each), and everything is working great.
My main site (for web design articles) is fairly standard in the way it operates, but the other two (services and portfolio) are heavily modded, so they still use the posts and pages, but it does not have the ‘blog’ feel. I will post a link sometime when I am through tweaking ??

In reply to: the_date() formatting issueTry this instead:
<form name="archiveform" action="">
<select name="archive_chrono" onchange="window.location = (document.forms.archiveform.archive_chrono[document.forms.archiveform.archive_chrono.selectedIndex].value);">
<option value="">By Month</option>
<?php wp_get_archives("format=option"); ?>
</select>
</form>I found it here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic.php?id=3242
It also has another method which might work if that one doesn’t for you.

In reply to: My new theme for v1.5I appreciate all responses, but would you care to comment on the general feel of the site? I have perhaps been overthinking it and need some possible reassurance that I should stop worrying because it looks nice. j/k ??

In reply to: My new theme for v1.5You probably have seen the wave before before, as it is all over the place ??
It is part of ‘The Great Wave at Kanagawa’ from a ‘Series of Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji’ by Katsushika Hokusai (from the Edo period). It currently is part of the H. P. Havemeyer Collection at the Metropolotian Museum of Art. (Isn’t the internet great? hehe)
Thanks for the validation info podz. I did not notice ??

In reply to: Few problems with the new (static) page featureI just nearly finished re-creating the theme with the new style. Anyone want to take a look and tell me what they think? https://www.dagondesign.com
I never could get the static pages to work from within WP itself. The content I added never showed up. I figured I needed some function in the template file which tells WP what data to load, but I could not find any docs on this.

In reply to: Few problems with the new (static) page featureNot to mention I really like being able to make static pages that I can have comments on if I choose to ??

In reply to: Few problems with the new (static) page featureYes.. that is the method I used with the previous version. I just figured I would use the new feature.
Before also I simply split up the main index.php into a header and footer, etc.. but the index.php is different now. Oh well. I will figure something out once I remake the theme. Thanks for your help!

In reply to: Few problems with the new (static) page featurewell.. I tried the default theme.. and it does indeed show up. I suppose I will have to re-make my entire theme using the newer one.
I also see that I can no longer select the classic one again in the admin panel. It only shows the default ??

In reply to: Few problems with the new (static) page featureI stuck it in the first article I put up there to test with… it screws up the layout but you can at least check it out .. https://www.dagondesign.com

In reply to: Few problems with the new (static) page featureCould this have something to do with the fact that my custom theme I made today was based off the classic and not the default? I chose the classic because the format was a bit closer to what I needed.
