I ended up getting in contact with the previous people and they fixed it.

Well, I did back up the previous site they had before I installed a theme. I can still go into the editor, and change the drop-down menu to the one that has the page.

I wasn’t sure if I could just copy/past and upload it without having to upload it through the host.

Hmm, that didn’t seem to work :/

I did it just like that and it didn’t center it, it only added the pre brackets at the beginning and end…

Is it possible that the theme I’m using restricts is?

I did some searching and saw suggestions on backing it up and did that.

I was able to successfully change the theme, for some reason I thought that a child theme was like a sub-theme so your page wouldn’t be changed.

Basically like if you were updating your index.html page, but didn’t want the contents to change so you name it index1.html…if that makes sense.

I tried, but that was the issue I mentioned earlier where I couldn’t install plugins. I tried multiple ones and it’s giving me directory errors. I’ve contacted the previous web people and they are looking in to fixing it.

I already have the design set up and a theme picked out. I was just trying to install a plugin for child theme.

All of the previous WordPress stuff I did, I was the one in control of the host. I guess you’re always learning something new!

Hmm, ok thanks. I’m going to be changing the theme from what they have.

As for info I need, do I need the hosting logon info? I don’t believe I can access it without.

Would it just be easier, since they have the hosting, to transfer it to me. I.E, I get my own hosting for the site? Or would that be kind of messy?

And for the second post on FTP, I don’t have access to it, I was just given the logon info to wordpress by the client.
