It was running on 5.6 and in desperation and from an article I read somewhere, I updated it to 7.0. That miraculously got the site up again. So to answer your question, the PHP was upgraded on just about 2 days ago.

I changed the PHP version from 5.6 to 7.0, which was what brought it up. Do you think that might cause a website to white-out?

How do I locate and shut down the web accelerator?

So even though the format is wrong, would the page still work? I used the DiVi theme for several of those page components (videos). It looks fine to me when I load it.
