Hi,

I stripped down to where it was last working, and P3 reports using 75mb of memory. The two big resource programs are Connections and NextGen Gallery. I think I need to find a slimmer gallery program, my needs are not sophisticated and I suspect that it has many features I will never use.

I was referring to the Microsoft Web Platform Installer (Web PI)

In step 1.3 it says “Once Web PI is installed, neither XAMPP nor any other web server will be able to use localhost to host a website locally on your machine. “

Adding items in bulk to the collection database
A CSV file can be uploaded to add items in bulk to the collection database. The
columns recognized are:
barcode This is the item’s barcode.
title This is the item’s title. It is required.
author This is the item’s author. It is required.
subject This is the item’s subject. It is required.
description This is the item’s description.

I trick excel by copying the column of numbers; then paste that into a true ASCII editor, Notepad generally works although I prefer V-Edit.

The delete the contents -entire column of data in excel. Highlight that column, change the format type to text, and then paste back the column of data that you copied.

V-edit or a similar program is good because you can view the text in other formats (Hex, etc) and this allows you to see any extraneous junk that excel has added into you supposedly number only column.

Collection Types was unpopulated when I started to enter a sample book

Having misspelled book, (Bad Finger) I tried to edit it. Even though there is an edit button it would not permit me to edit.
