In reply to: [Converter for Media - Optimize images | Convert WebP & AVIF] Safari SupportAlso, I recieve this error message when i install the plugin:
It appears that your server does not support using .htaccess files from custom locations, or it requires additional configuration for the plugin to function properly.
If you are using the Nginx server, please, contact your hosting’s technical support (or server administrator) and provide them with the following message:
I am trying to configure the Converter for Media plugin with WebP and AVIF support. In order to do this, I need your help in adding the required rules to the Nginx configuration of my website – https://petpoochie.co.uk. More information can be found in the plugin FAQ: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/webp-converter-for-media/faq/ (in the question: Configuration for Nginx)
If you are using the Apache server, this issue is usually related to the virtual host settings in the Apache configuration. Substitute the AllowOverride None value with AllowOverride All in the <Directory>…</Directory> section of the relevant .conf file for your VirtualHost. In this case, please, contact your server administrator.

My hosting company said the following:
“I checked the rules with our team and we aren’t able to add those in i’m afraid as we already have a ruleset for webp images we aren’t able to add more.”
Do you know of a solution to this?

In reply to: [Converter for Media - Optimize images | Convert WebP & AVIF] Safari SupportIt was just mainly for the image resizing feature that Smush offers. I’m not sure how significant of a difference this will make on the load times.

In reply to: [Converter for Media - Optimize images | Convert WebP & AVIF] Safari SupportThanks for that info.
Is the plugin known to have any conflict issues with Smush? or Smush Pro?

In reply to: [Converter for Media - Optimize images | Convert WebP & AVIF] Safari SupportI see, thank you. I’ve posted the link below. I’m still using JPGs for my images, so my page score is low.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Remove unused CSSThanks for explaining.
I’d like to eliminate render blocking resoucres as that’ll make a bigger difference.
Is there a trial period where I can test the pro verison with my website to see how much of a difference it makes?
Or a refund policy.

In reply to: [Converter for Media - Optimize images | Convert WebP & AVIF] Safari SupportUnderstood.
How much of a difference does AVIF formats make over Webp?
Is the loading time significantly faster with AVIF?

In reply to: [Converter for Media - Optimize images | Convert WebP & AVIF] Safari SupportThanks for making that clear.
Does your plugin also resize images to the appropriate sizes for each browser/device type too?

In reply to: [Converter for Media - Optimize images | Convert WebP & AVIF] Safari SupportAh I see, so the original images won’t be removed if i deactivate the plugin?

In reply to: [Converter for Media - Optimize images | Convert WebP & AVIF] Safari SupportIt’s just in case I’m forced to remove the plugin at a later date due to a plugin conflict. It makes the website quite vulnerable if it’s reliant on one plugin like that.
If there a way to exculde certain images from being converted?
Yep, I had that activated. I cleared my cache and tried again but i still had the same issue.

In reply to: [Converter for Media - Optimize images | Convert WebP & AVIF] Safari SupportOkay. Is there a way to only convert certain images?
In this case, it might be safer to duplicate a few of them and then convert those ones.

If i install the plugin and convert all my images, then if the plugin is removed/deactivated at a later date, will that mean that all the images are also removed with it?
