Hi there,
In addition to Stripe’s processing fees, the free Stripe gateway has an additional 2% fee associated. The 2% fee only applies to one-time donations processed via the Stripe gateway when using the free Stripe gateway.
If you’d like to remove the additonal 2% fee, you can either:
1. Purchase and activate the Premium Stripe gateway.
2. Purchase and activate the Recurring Donations gateway — the recurring donations will never have fees added to them. Our aim is to empower more small causes to accept more donations on their website. We can do this more effectively by funding the support and development necessary to support Stripe in the free plugin.
Have a great day!
Hi there,
I’m going to mark this ticket as resolved, but if there is anything else you need don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thanks.
Hi there,
Were the snippets that you’re using developed and provided by GiveWP or a 3rd party?
We cannot provide support for custom code on your website, only the code that we create and distribute.
Hi there,
We have noticed this error message on sites where the plugin W3 Total Cache is also installed.
Please disable this plugin and try this again.
Thank you!

In reply to: [GiveWP - Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform] Enhance Detailled ReportHi there,
To get this kind of data, you can use our Export tool to download a CSV. From there you can upload it as an Excel Spreadsheet or Google Sheet and analyze the data in whatever ways you like.
Please go to Donations > Tools > Export and use the top option to download a CSV. You can alter the data to include whatever forms, date range, etc. that you like.
Thanks for using Give!
Hi there,
When I got to hat page and fill out the form, I’m immediately redirected to a PayPal screen that asks for me to donate or add a card.
I’m not seeing that console image on the form page.
Are you still experiencing this problem?
Hi there,
You’ll want to use the Stripe API keys associated with the sub-account. Go to Donations > Settings > Advanced(tab) > Stripe (section) and enable API key connection. Then, Go to Donations >> Settings >> Payment Gateways >> Stripe Settings to add the Keys.
Refer to our extensive Stripe Add-on documentation here: https://givewp.com/documentation/add-ons/stripe-gateway/ (the bottom section walks through the API keys bit)
Thanks for using Give! Have a great day.
Hi there @twaitecreate
If you’re using PayPal, you’re definitely on the right path; you would need to do some IPN troubleshooting. Here is our documentation on how to do that: https://givewp.com/documentation/core/payment-gateways/paypal-standard/troubleshooting-ipn-issues/
If you’re using Stripe, there is a webhook that needs to be set up and configured properly in order for those transactions to show as complete. here is our documentation on that: https://givewp.com/documentation/add-ons/stripe-gateway/#webhooks
If the webhook is correctly configured, you should see a record in the logs at Donations > Tools > Logs > Stripe for every event at Stripe (going forward).
If you’re using a different gateway, let me know and I can point you toward the right info.
Hi there @laig95
What you’re seeing is the expected behavior of that tool. I’d be happy to shed a bit more light on how it works.
When setting up the Sequential Numbering, the donation number you add in is the number used to generate the next donation ID.
Say your last donation was 567 and you’ve migrated to a new site, so you want to make sure to pick up where you left off. You’d add 567 to that field in settings and the next donation will go from there.
Thanks for writing in about this. You’ll want to try to force GiveWP to reexamine the donation totals and recalculate all the totals.
Go to Donations > Tools > Data. Select the first option in the dropdown – Recalculate Total Donation Amount.

In reply to: [GiveWP - Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform] Changing form structureHi there @htfd23miller
We offer a php snippet for rearranging the order of the fields: https://github.com/impress-org/givewp-snippet-library/commit/f562ba72074248d569eccb537da4d712960c6456
If you need assistance implementing custom PHP code on your website we have this guide:
https://givewp.com/documentation/resources/adding-custom-functions-to-your-wordpress-website/?
Please note that this code snippet is provided as an example of how you can extend Give with code. It’s up to you to implement and customize to your liking. We cannot provide support for custom code on your website, only the code that we create and distribute.
To change the entire layout of the forms and make fields appear next to each other where they didn’t before would require more robust custom development, which is beyond the scope of free support.
Hi there @parentalliance. This looks like a conflict with a plugin or theme that you’re using on the site.
Here’s an article we wrote on a method for checking for plugin or theme incompatibility using the Health Check plugin: https://givewp.com/documentation/resources/troubleshoot-wordpress-websites-health-check/
Follow the steps there, and let us know if you can isolate what the conflict is.
Hi @sellernine. Pending donations can happen when your donors abandon their donation halfway through and don’t see the transaction through until the end.
If you’re seeing multiple pending donations in PayPal, but have actually received the funds, that is most likely an IPN issue. You’re going to need to confirm that your PayPal account has the right IPN set for your website.
Here is our documentation on troubleshooting IPN issues with PayPal: https://givewp.com/documentation/core/payment-gateways/paypal-standard/troubleshooting-ipn-issues/
It’s a similar setup and relationship as the Stripe webhook.

In reply to: [GiveWP - Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform] GDPR complianceHi there,
This is a great question.
We actually have a full article regarding GDPR tolls for your website and how GiveWP specifically plays a role in that: https://givewp.com/gdpr-tools-for-your-nonprofit-website/
