I’m going to “Write Post” and asigning that post to the Aside category. I know there’s a place where you can put the title like a regular post, but when I put it in the aside it doesn’t show up.

Well, just to let you know, I made things more complicated than they were. Which I know I will do again. I figured out what I was doing wrong as far as asides go, and now I’m going to play around with the CSS to customize.

Hi febwa1976. I’ve actually been using Firefoxes plugin that allows you to edit CSS. It came in really handy. I’d like to learn CSS though instead of just getting things done at the time being but not knowing the “logic” behind all of it.

Hi djcayenne. I have gottent that far, but I would like to customzie it more by adding some boxes that will allow readers to add their email address, and another box to add content.

well, i’m talking about if i want to post in the future at 5:00 originally in Timestamp but change my mind that i want it to post at 6:00 and change it again to post at 7:00 i’m not sending pings am i?

hey Solo, also do you know if you have local setup if that pings also? i do a lot of testing on my local machine and hit publish a lot so I don’t want to have unecessary pings.

hmm, well I just tried putting in 12 : 00 but it is changing the timestamp to something like 6 : 45.

so this pinging issue is a real problem if you are a commercial site. what can be done about it?

Phew, I think I just need to study PHP more. I am really trying to wrap my head around everything because of all the tweaks I want on my website. There’s just so much information it’s difficult to know where to start and end. The WP documentatin can be a bit confusing for complete newbies because it throws so many links and information at you. But maybe it’s just me. I tend to overcomplicate things.

Anyway, thanks for you help. I’m pretty sure I’m pointed in the right direction. I just need to figure it out now. ??

I am so new to WordPress. I’ve tried reading everything I can but always seem to be going in circles because there is just so much information it seems overwhelming at times.

I’ve read about Conditional Tags but really can’t make sense of it because I don’t know what all that Code means. And that is another problem in itself. Where did you start off when using WordPress? Even your suggestion is confusing to me. Am I suppose to just copy and paste what you wrote into my sidebar.php?

Oh, I would like for the banner to be under “archives”.

What’s that wp-rss2.php for????? I thought all you had to do was put in your url and append “/feed” to it when submitting to feed directories… am I missing something? example: http:www.WXYZ.com/feed
