Did you do some custom CSS coding?

If so you can go through each code that refers to the header and simply comment each one out until you find the culprit!

What type of change were you wanting to do to your header image?

If this is a common occurrence for you or might be something you do regularly – I would suggest getting the Post Type Switcher Plugin. I haven’t used it personally myself but it has great reviews and seems to do the trick.
