I will happily provide you a login to a userfile page on my website if you think it would help you evaluate the download problem. I have client downloading PDFs daily, with no problems; but I have no success with Microsoft Office products. Luckily, we are primarily PDF based, but this would be a perfect plugin if I could share other file types!
