Thank you for all of the information! Yes, I’ve already paid for my domain registration and know they “ain’t free”! ?? I had looked at those Codex instructions before and they seem complicated for wanting such a small change. Oh, well. I may try that.

Thanks again! Really appreciate everyone’s help!

The full URL of my current blog before the name server move:
    https://alternativemedicine4babyboomers.com/wordpress/

The full URL of my current blog after the name server move was suppose to be: https://alternativemedicine4babyboomers.com/
(this is the name I want, without wordpress in it and the reason it costs $12 a year to have it mapped).

I’m hosting the original blog on www.ads-software.com (The wordpress.com Support Forum referred me to the www.ads-software.com Forum since they said it was not hosted with wordpress.com).

I changed the name servers for this domain to (as per the WP Codex instructions)
    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

The next day when I tried to login to my Admin. area, the blog could not be found, so I assumed it was because I changed the name servers. I changed them back to my original name servers and the blog was found.

No, I’m not moving to a new hosting company.

I hope this info. helps you advise me!
    Thanks again.

When I went to send the above message to WordPress Support Forum, they said they only answered questions from WordPress.com sites. My domain is hosted with another web host so that’s why they sent me to this forum.

I can’t believe people are still having this problem! I cannot edit or add any new links. These are links listed in my left sidebar. Every time I try to add a new link or edit an old one, it says that the link was added, but when I checked, it was not.

I recently upgraded to WP 2.9.1. I never had this problem when I used 2.8.4. Now, I wish I could go back! I even tried deactivating all of my plugins, but this did not work. Is there a workaround to this issue until its resolved. Seems like its a bug in the newest version. Are the WP techs working on it, I wonder?

If anyone can solve this issue, I sure would appreciate knowing about it!

    Thank you ahead of time!
