Thanks for your kind review! We’ll add your idea to our product roadmap for review since we’re always improving, and many of our features come directly from our users.
Hi @fishnyc22 — yes you can do that. Alt text that you generate remains in your own WP system, regardless if you cancel or not. And yes 1 credit per image alt text generated. You can find answers to this and other common questions on our FAQ and Support page here: https://alttext.ai/support
Thanks!

In reply to: Extending WP Media Modal@threadi That’s not relevant here — those are the events which you want the extended view to handle, like clicks on your custom button, etc. That is not what I’m referring to here.
I’m trying to find out why I need to wait the 0.5 secs before the code works. It seems like maybe Bootstrap JS is still “setting up”, so I was hoping there is an event it fires to indicate it’s ready, similar to DOMContentLoaded, etc.. And yes I already did a console.log() to indicate my code is being executed.
Thank you for your review, we really appreciate it!
Hi @gyurmey – thanks for flagging this. We’ll be working on adding AVIF support to our system!
@martinmarkov Going to mark this as resolved. Let us know if you disagree.
Hi @rocketpig3 — Yes just use our Refresh Alt Text feature: https://alttext.ai/docs/integrations/wordpress/#updating-posts-and-pages
You can select either individual posts, or multiple to process at a time.
Hello @konstantinflk!
- Yes, usually the AI vision model does a good job with tables and graphics. We’d suggest setting the model to the “Elaborated” mode in your Account: Settings (you do this online in your alttext.ai account), which will give you the most details in the alt text.
- Yes it should work with German text.
- Yes, you can select German as the alt text language, so all generated alt text will be in German.
Please feel free to sign up for a free trial account, and you can test it out with some of your images to see how it works! If you have any problems, you can contact us on our support page and we can help.
Danke ??
Thank you for the review @changeaccess !
Hi – did you check the box in the Phoenix plugin to enable renaming from AltTextAI ? If you still have issues, it seems like this is a problem with the Phoenix plugin, not AltText.ai ?
Hi @peter0013 — Right now there is not a setting to just limit the alt text to only the product name by itself. However, you *may* be able to do that using the custom chat gpt prompt in the settings section. You could try something like:
Extract the product name from the following sentence: {{AltText}}
As with all ChatGPT prompts, we advise experimenting with this before putting it live. You can try a few examples directly on the ChatGPT website if you’d like to see if it works, or modify the prompt until you get something you want.
@venutius – Let us know if you still need help, and send a support email to our team and we can work with you to figure out what happened. Thanks!
@venutius – Did you do a bulk update or use the credits previously? You can login to your account on our website and look at your image library to see what has been processed. Send us an email at [email protected] so we can help you out!
Yes, definitely! Just go to the plugin Settings page, and UN-check the box for:
When new images are added => [ ] Automatically generate alt text with AltText.ai
This will turn off the auto-generation, but you can manually process images either from your image library, bulk generate page, or using our refresh alt text features.
