It would be good to get an answer / fix on this. I am experiencing the exact same issue as rositap and would rather avoid having to set a featured image on over 10,000 posts spanning almost 15 years!! Thank you!

In reply to: Related posts plug-in that looks only at the blog post titleIs this how you speak to everyone on here, Steve?
And there I was thinking this is a support forum.
Yes, I have the link you provided (thank you) which has 139 pages of results, with 20 items to a page. That’s over 2,700 plug-ins.
What I am asking is if anyone has any first-hand experience or knowledge of what I’m looking for.

In reply to: Related posts plug-in that looks only at the blog post titleJust be clear, I am not asking about the product that I’m currently using.
I’m asking for suggestions for related post plug-ins that would look at the subject line only, and not the entire post. Does anyone know if such a plug-in exists?
This, I feel, would give me better results than I’m currently getting, and hopefully have lower demands in terms of server resources.
Thanks,
Paul

In reply to: Controlling the size of uploaded media by third party authorsThank you for your reply. From what I can tell, this allows me to prevent media above a certain size from being uploaded.
But what I’d actually like to do is allow images only with very exact dimensions to be uploaded. For example, if I wanted only images that were 640 x 480, and nothing else, is there a way I can do that? Thanks…

In reply to: Looking for best solution for new blogFurther to my ponderings on a ratings plug-in (last para of the above post), I am assuming that most ratings plug-ins that allow you to display by rating rank will not take the date of the blog post into account.
If I was displaying by ‘top rating’, I would want it to be only the ‘top rated’ entries from, say, the last few months. I have browsed the plug-ins directory and can’t seem to find anything that would do that. Can anyone help?
Thanks.

In reply to: Looking for best solution for new blogThank you. We were starting to go down the route of importing emails generated from a form into WordPress, but I’ll ask my colleague to look at this also.
A couple more questions, if you don’t mind…
One of the pieces of information that we will require from submitters is the date that each offer expires, so that information will be included in each post. Is there a way we could show which offers are ‘expiring soon’, do you know?
I think it would also be nice if users of the blog could ‘rate’ the offers (ie. blog posts). I’m sure there are probably many plug-ins available to do this, but would it also be possible for a user, if they wished, to only bring up those offers that were rated 4 or 5, say, out of 5…?
Thanks again.

In reply to: Subscribe to Comments Plugin Nothing ShowsI am having this problem also. I wonder if it’s because the subscribe to comments plugin isn’t compatible with more recent versions of WordPress….?

In reply to: How to Change the Date Order for Scheduled PostsI’m sorry I don’t have an answer, but I have the same problem. I would welcome a resolution to this issue.
Anyone?

In reply to: WP 2.5.x is a bit of a “down”-grade… no?The bit that grates a little with me (aside from a link categories problem that I’ve posted elsewhere) is the display of scheduled posts.
I use scheduled posts a lot and with my earlier version of WordPress, I could just see them – in the order that they were about to appear – from my dashboard.
Now I have to hunt for them a little, and they’re displayed in reverse order which I personally find unhelpful.
Sorry to winge and moan! It’s great otherwise!

In reply to: Why were Link Categories combined into Regular categories?I am browsing the support forums having recently upgraded from WP 1.5 to 2.5.1 due to Akismet no longer working and spam comments getting through.
Of course, it broke various aspects of my site, most of which I’ve been able to fix.
But the one issue I’m stuck with still is the categorisation of links, which is I think what Dgold refers to here. All my links are grouped together (blogroll links, other link exchanges, and certain other groups of links) when previously they were categorised. Any categorisation just seems to be ignored.
I am using Perun’s Red Train theme. I know there is a later version of that theme avaialble. I’ve tried that and it just breaks all my adaptations and so gives me even more headaches. I just would like to get a simple answer as to how to get my links to categorise properly. My blog is at https://www.aluxurytravelblog.com
Thanks

PS – Hello Diane… small world. You might remember me from the early days of Cre8asite (does Aaron the Aardvark ring any bells? anyway, I digress…)

In reply to: Can i embed youtube video ?The solution that worked for me was to click on ‘users’, uncheck ‘use the visual rich editor when writing’ and then I was able to paste the code with success.

In reply to: Google Maps in WPWe have actually been working on something that allows Google Maps to be added to your site with some HTML code. Although it’s almost complete, I’m hesitant to give the URL just yet because it has a few final tweaks being done to it. If you’d like details, email me on dedicate at dedicate dot co dot uk and I’ll get back to you in about a week’s time with the info.
