yes, thanks Mottie!
i had the jQuery library loaded on the home page and also enabled site-wide and that was giving me two copies. as i mentioned, this is thesis 1.8 ‘Design Options.’
i disabled site-wide and that solved the problem.
nice catch!

oh cool! i agree with heather, you are fabulous. i think all i have to do is un-tick a box in thesis site-options and that will fix it.

i tried setting wmode to ‘opaque’ and ‘transparent,’ but there was no change. the clips keep playing when the slide is changed.
i left it set to ‘transparent.’
thanks for checking this
clyde
hey thanks! i’ll try the wmode.

i just scrapped YouTube and used the vimeo embed. i like the player customization better anyway. i had ‘infinite slides’ set to ‘yes’ btw.
now the display is correct but the slide transition frame rate is rendering really slooowwww on the iPad.
the video that is not pausing is vimeo iframe. if i play a video and then use a nav tab to go to another video and start playing that one, both videos will be playing at the same time.
you can see it at: https://syntheticblog.com/testbed
thanks for looking into this
clydehow do i make sure a video pauses or stops when the viewer changes the slide? otherwise you can get multiple videos playing!

re: video on the iPad
found some info on another site. embeds from YouTube don’t mask properly on the iPad. embeds from vimeo work fine.
well, i cloned my localhost and uploaded it and everything is as it should be. however, the slider is still broken on iPad/Safari. all of the slides are visible. none are masked
i think this is causing the problem:
<li class=”cloned panel” style=”width: 610px; height: 22px; “>
i think the anythingslider.css says use the slider-ID and that’s why i did. i have been trying to fix things using the classes you mentioned, but there is something overriding the height that i can’t quite nail down.
everything was perfect on my localhost dev testbed. now i uploaded the site and the CSS is out-of-whack. i’ll get it…
thanks

hmmm. my slider ID seems to change every time i reload my page. why is that?

i added a
- of text items to the page and it looked fine. no overlap. then i added a couple lines to my custom.CSS file to set the margin and padding for ul and li and voila- the slide deck lined-up!
the _____ ?
i’ll poke around.

oh i see someone had the same problem with the K2 theme. i’m using thesis 1.8 and the underlying slides are peeking out.
