  • Sorry I thought this one reason for this blog was to help people with their problems. Obviously it is just to tell people go read.

I was not necessarily having a go at telling Cassio to read material but to throw out jargon without explanation and then trying to make him/her feel stupid because she did not understand some basics was unwarranted.

If you tell a person to go read something to assist them with a specific issue, throwing the entire manual at them isn’t very helpful. Perhaps Moshu you could help by telling me the specific page that Cassie should have been referred to.

It certainly didnt help Cassie by calling her a “clueless newbie”. Actually I had the same problem as Cassie a couple of weeks ago. I spent ages reading WordPress documentation and it was only when I went to my host did I gain any help on this issue.

It is not necessary to teach computers 101 to everyone, but some people may need that type of assistance and it should be provided without insulting them.

Cassie, in case you are still having problems. FTP stands for file transfer protocol. This is the means by which files are uploaded on to your website. In your website, like on your computer you have a range of folders and files.

So what is meant by FTP is send it to your host, then you should be able to manage your folders and files from within.

Hosts work differently, what I normally do with Host4Profit is to send them a winzipped folder/file and ask them to do the task for me. I find that Host4Profit is very helpful

Hey you nerds. Maybe I didnt explain it clearly but nerdism doesn’t help much either.
