Ah. I don’t have that option on the admin page because I’m using an older version of bgmp (1.10.5) and can’t update due to customizations—see my original post above.

Our original developer never followed protocol for extending this plugin instead of modifying it, so we can’t really run bgmp updates without breaking our site. Is the api key fix something I can implement manually without too much difficulty? I’m starting to have the problem too, but I’ve never done much with PHP. We’re on v1.10.5.

Wow! That was the easiest fix in the world. Thanks so much for your help. The underlying problem remains—which unfortunately is a bit over the head of anyone still left on the team—but at least for now we have a functional site.

Just FooBox Free (which I also tried deactivating and reinstalling). I’m using Chrome. And WP 4.2.2. I can give you login cred if that would help.

Update: I deleted and reinstalled the plugin, but the problem persists. I’m not using Jetpack’s carousel or any other lightbox plugin besides FooBox Free. There are also no javascript errors on the page (that I’m aware of). We have ten galleries on the site and everything seemed to be working just fine until some point in the last few weeks.

In that particular case, we were using the vimeo shortcode.

Since that didn’t seem to embed videos in Jetpack emails, we switched settings so email subscribers only see the excerpt and a link to the full post on the site. It’d still be nice to have the featured images come through in those emails, though.

I’m having a similar problem. When I try to authenticate DropBox, I get the following error:

Is there anyway an update for the plugin could change the alt text/caption behavior?

I understand that so long as the alt text and caption are the same, both won’t appear in the lightbox. But it would be really nice if the alt text didn’t appear at all. We have rather long captions often including html links, which the alt field doesn’t take too well.
