what do you mean by look-n-feel? do you mean the admin section? if yes then the answer to your question is also yes, currently that is. if you download a nightly build, you’ll see that the admin interface is pretty much the same as that available in WordPress.com

Yeah, I think I’ll forward them to that FAQ link & be done with it!! I don’t think its my plugin’s problem either else it would’ve come up on not just 1-2 blogs but many others!!

well, I’ve already suggested that to them, but they say that they haven’t opened the plugin files & uploaded them straightaway after unzipping. And the zipped files are OK to run as they’ve been checked again & contain no spaces at the end(its against my programming habit anyway).

one of the guys who reported the error said that after he got the error, he opened the file, checked for spaces & didn’t find any. so he saved the file again as UTF8 and then the errors were gone!! Frankly I’m baffled as I haven’t seen any of these errors & I’ve my plugin running on 2 blogs on a Linux box & 1 on a Windows box!!

and another thing about your bandwidth issues, WordPress had an SF account, no? If its still there, then the docs can be hosted there. Or if Matt is unable to host them on Codex, then a new account can be created on SF(though I doubt they’ll allow it).

Are CHM files cross platform though?

Not cross-platform natively, since they are native to Windows only, but there are free softwares available so you can read them on Linux as well. I’m not aware of any such thing for Mac but possibly it’ll be there as well even if I don’t know of any!! ??

Another thing is that if we do it in a CHM format, then it’ll be of lesser weight than the current PDFs, take a look at the PHP Manual in CHM format, just 4MB or so, & its quite vast!!

CHM would ofcourse be much better than a PDF and as for HTML coding, I thought that I read somewhere about a CHM compiler that created it from Word files!! converting PDF to Word ofcourse is a piece of cake if you don’t already have a Word file. ??

If you wanna know, I’ll look for that CHM compiler.

If you want, you can use the iG:Syntax Hiliter plugin that colourise your code & allows you to post in a box. Along with Javascript, it supports many other languages.

yes its possible, the ability to load CSS was introduced in FlashPlayer-7 but you won’t be able to position any thing, I doubt even padding etc. will work. But the colouring & sizing etc work.

Looks cool. The section that’s displaying the posts, are those movieclips or a text field? I guess its not a text-field else I’d been able to use my mouse-wheel to scroll!!
