In reply to: New Plugin: Fancy Drop Case LettersSorry, it’s left over from my days of journalism and yearbooking, drop case is the technical term (As opposed to lower casing)… It refers to when you take the init letter, capitalize it, make it over size, then drop it so that the top of the graphic is flsih with the top of the text (that’s where the “drop” comes from…)
All true but if I remember correctly, its Drop-Cap & not Drop-Case. ?? Feel free to consult a dictionary or a thesaurus & tell me if I’m wrong. ??Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: Drumroll – Hindi L10N is donebut as amit argued me, not everyone uses XP
True. If you are creating a Blog in Hindi, it means that you are aiming at Indians residing in India. And experience tells me that most people still use Win98 in India, though they are upgrading to Win2000 and WinXP gradually, but upgradation frequency is still very low. People are sticking with their Win98, even when Microsoft declared the end of support for Win98, people didn’t care. Who needs Microsoft support, people have local Computer Technicians.
But then Microsoft took Indian users into consideration. And extended the support for Win98 till Dec’04. After all, India is the biggest market for Microsoft products. ??Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Drumroll – Hindi L10N is doneAs opposed to, not having a latin font installed on the machine to view English?
Don’t know what you are uptight about but English fonts come pre-installed with the OSes. That’s not the case with Hindi Fonts. So, the situation might improve in future, you can’t bank on a thing that is yet to come. You can’t depend on something that might happen in future.
So till that revolution comes, you just have to go the way its more reachable to general people. Or if you just want to have a Blog for only those who do have a Hindi font on their PCs, its fine then.Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: Blog Software Comparison ChartNow what can be that? *roll eyes*
If you don’t know, the ASP.NET Blogs that I posted about are the best around & they are FREE. Open Source you can say since both are available under BSD License. And the Official ASP.NET Blogs at weblogs.asp.net are running .TEXT
So they are not sub standard good for nothing Blog Scripts. I’d sure like to know about a reason which disqualifies them from being included in the Blog Comparison Chart of Ringmaster.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Drumroll – Hindi L10N is donethat is something I didn’t know. But again, the problem is same with those Blogs. They expect the user to have a Hindi font installed on the machine. This is something you can’t/shouldn’t expect. I hope that you can go around this.

In reply to: Drumroll – Hindi L10N is doneYeah, there’s a problem when you try to use custom fonts in HTML. EOT is supported in IE6 only. There’s another format for Netscape & though it was in CSS2 specification, it was not widely implemented. Opera don’t support it completely.
So whenever someone need to use a custom font, they make it either images or Flash/Shockwave movies.
So if Pankaj wants to localise WordPress in Hindi, the viewer base will be restricted to IE6 which still is quite less in India.
So I think that this is all a waste of time, unless you do a front-end in Flash so that users can view the Blog, leave the admin panel in English or make it in Flash either.
Or you can generate PDF files & use PDF forms to fill in the fields & make posts etc.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Drumroll – Hindi L10N is doneYeah & then you’ll need a tool to convert that font to EOT. I looked it up quite a while ago & came across a tool on Microsoft’s website(was FREE then). I’ll look it up again if I find it, I’ll post the link here.

In reply to: Blog Software Comparison Chartcome again? We are talking about building a comparison chart of features of different Blog scripts, not an instruction manual of installing WordPress or any other blog.

In reply to: Blog Software Comparison ChartRingmaster:>
You might want to include WP’s features of blogging through eMail & password protected posts in the chart as well. As far as I know, password protected posts is not available in MT & few other blog scripts.
Also, you might consider adding NucleusCMS to the chart. Its becoming a hot choice too with quite a lot features.Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: RSS for categories in mod_rewrite way?like if my blog URL is https://blog.igeek.info/ & the category is hello, the URL to that category is https://blog.igeek.info/categories/hello/.
so the URL to the RSS2 feed of this category will be
