In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Duration field auto calculateHi there @gzm89,
Thanks so much for your compliments on our plugin!
As for duration, unfortunately it can’t read duration lengths from other podcast hosts.
From the plugin listing on www.ads-software.com:
With other podcast providers, you’ll need to make updates to your podcast’s RSS feed via your hosting provider account and again on WordPress to manually sync the information. Seriously Simple Podcasting is also unable to read a few metadata fields (like episode duration and publish date) from 3rd party hosting providers. For each episode, you’ll manually add that information as well.
You can manually add duration with this format: 00:00:00 (hours:minutes:seconds) or 00:00 if your episode is less than an hour.
I hope that helps but let us know if you have any other questions or issues about this. I will mark this as resolved, but feel free to respond and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Have a good one!

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] video episode not showing in player widgetHi there @stephendew639,
Since your video episodes were created using Post (and not an episode from the custom post type Podcasts), these won’t show up in the podcast-archive pages you have, such as /podcast/.
Some of these episodes have different [podcasts/series assigned to them](https://support.castos.com/article/282-working-with-multiple-podcasts). You can un-select them (and save changes) to make sure they show up in your default RSS feed (https://youtbeaffiliate.com/feed/podcast).
I hope that helps but let us know if you have any other questions.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] How to add a block tag to RSS?Hi there @richpav,
Thanks for contacting us.
You can add this to your
functions.php
using Code Snippets (withRun snippet everywhere
enabled):add_filter('ssp_feed_item_block', function(){ return 'on'; });
A separate block tag for Google isn’t required as it respects
<itunes:block>
.This will disable the episode-specific block option on each episode page in Episode Details.
I hope that helps. Let us know if you have any other questions and have a good day.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Private podcasts without a Castos accountHi there @cjmclean,
Thanks for contacting us.
You can password protect your RSS feed from Seriously Simple Podcasting directly via Podcast → Settings → Security.
I hope that helps and let us know if you have any other questions. Have a good day.
Hi there @krmd1984,
Do you have an Under Construction plugin enabled? I’m unable to view your RSS feeds are any part of your website to take a closer look.
The plugin adds a custom post type (Podcasts) to your site and you can find those episodes from
/podcast
, which is an archive page for those podcast episodes. You can use Elementor to customize that page or alternatively use Posts for your episodes to allow more WP flexibility in how posts are displayed (depending on plugins, themes, taxonomies, etc).
I’d check out our YouTube playlist on working with the plugin as well.
Let us know if you have any other questions and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Hi @biggestchops,
Thanks for your response and also linking to IP2’s support forum! That’ll be really helpful if any other folks find this issue.
I’ve sent this over to our WordPress developer to check out, since admittedly it’s a little over my head as well.
In the meantime, were you able to test out the code snippet this person supplied? You can add them by editing the files or downloading a plugin
Hi there @biggestchops,
Our WordPress developer noticed a conflict between [Independent Publisher 2’s Style.css](https://timhildred.com/wp-content/themes/independent-publisher-2-wpcom/style.css?ver=5.9.3) and the Core WordPress style.css that’s giving these blue boxes over buttons and resizing others.
I’d try reaching out to the developers (I’m not sure if Raam Dev maintains this or Automattic) or the community around this theme about this in the [WordPress.com forum for the theme](https://wordpress.com/theme/independent-publisher-2/support).

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Hide Trailer From Episodes ListMuy buenas @tennotnine21,
After looking Spotify’s support docs, there doesn’t seem to be a way to still be listed as a trailer but not be visible in the feed.
But it’s a good idea! You might want to reach out to Spotify to suggest that feature request.
Sorry we can’t help out here more. Let us know if you have any other questions and have a good day.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] MP3 File URLs are Post TitleHi there @mlbia,
Since the passthrough URL is failing, this is an NGINX server issue. You can reach out to your hosts and request they add a rule:
Hi there,
I am using the Seriously Simple Podcasting plugin. In order for me to take full advantage of the plugin I need you to add the nginx bypass rule for the podcast-download and podcast-player URLs to my site’s config.
Please add this to NGINX Before Rule
# Seriously Simple Podcasting rewrite podcast-download/([^/]+)/([^/]*)/? /index.php?podcast_episode=$1 break; rewrite podcast-player/([^/]+)/([^/]*)/? /index.php?podcast_episode=$1&podcast_ref=player break;
Thanks!
With the custom rule in place, the passthrough URLs will direct to your self-hosted audio files (and continue counting listens for Seriously Simple Stats).
I hope that helps. Let us know if you have any other questions and have a good day.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Problem RSS FeedHi there @marcin76,
Something has changed on the site since I last took a look and I no longer see any episodes in
/feed/podcast
(an hour ago this link was broken). At that time I also didn’t see any HTML5 players from SSP in your episodes. Are you currently working on the theme and WP taxonomy?
We can take a closer look when you’ve finishing making changes and if any issues persist after that. Let us know and we’ll be in touch.
Have a great day.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Problem RSS FeedHi there @marcin76,
I see 58 episodes in your RSS feed from https://www.oobeswiadomoscpoprzezsnypodcast.pl/feed/podcast
but still see 10 episodes from Spotify. Did you recently make the change to increase the RSS items via the Reading settings? You might still see 10 items in your RSS feed if your browser cached that behavior.
The change to your RSS feed is immediate, but might take a little longer to change in Spotify. Unless this change was made a few days ago. Let us know if that is the case.
I hope that helps. Let us know and have a great day.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Website won’t play episodes 1-7Hi there @thelugnutspodcastgroup,
Thanks for your response.
It would be customized, but you can modify the URLs of your RSS feed and /podcast archive page to point somewhere else, which would then free up /podcast to be designed as a normal page.
Designing or creating the landing page can be done in quick a few ways that work for your preferences. I also recommend checking into Elementor Pro’s documentation, our videos on YouTube, and other WP resources online.
Let us know if you have any other questions and have a great day.
