In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] RSS Feed Not UpdatingHi @tiebreaktennis,
Sorry you had trouble with the syndication settings and not seeing your podcast episodes in the feed. That change would be automatic.
It’s difficult to diagnose what happened here since your RSS feed is showing all episodes correctly and we weren’t able to compare your feed to Spotify in the moment.
Did clearing the brower cache change what you saw on https://tbtennis.cz/feed/podcast? How long did you notice the discrepancy?

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Http error – cannot uploadHi there @nuancedesign,
If this ever happens again, could you open Chrome’s console and see if there’s any error messages there? These could be more descriptive and give us a better clue on what’s happening here.
I’ll resolve this for now, but feel free to reply back here or with an email to [email protected].

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Any chance to change default sorting?Hi @amiga4ever,
The plugin doesn’t have the option to sort the RSS feed from oldest to newest (some podcast listening apps like Overcast have this built-in), but our Podcast player shortcode has this ability.
I hope that helps. Let us know if you have any other questions let us know.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Use external RSS feedHi @anushka27,
You’d need to add the actual audio file URL, not the RSS feed, into each episode.
For example, if my RSS is https://audience.castos.com/feed, I would add the
<enclosure URL>
for that particular episode, which in this case is found here in the feed.Regarding analytics counting those as listens through the plugin, I think these would count in the analytics of your podcast host, but to be sure I’m confirming with our WordPress developer and will update you here.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Feed is not workingHi there @acornmedia,
With external RSS feeds like Anchor, you’d need to manually insert the audio file URL for each episode.
With a Castos hosting account, you can manage your podcast directly from WordPress and the Seriously Simple Podcasting plugin will send your audio files over to Castos for safekeeping.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Use external RSS feedHi @anushka27,
It’s possible to use an external host (other than Castos) with the plugin, but you’d need to paste the file URL from the enclosure URL into each episode manually.
I hope that clarifies things but let us know if you have any other questions.
Have a good day.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Messy FeedHi @xabieraresti,
I have tested this issue using 2.9.8 and it is sorting accordingly to either publishing date or recording date correctly.
Could you share your WordPress site with SSP and RSS feed with us? If you prefer you can send us an email at [email protected].

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Messy FeedHi @xabieraresti,
Thanks for your response.
When you select
Order by Recorded Date
, your episodes are sorted randomly or sorted according to theDate Recorded
text field en orden cronológico inverso? You can change the recorded date from each episode page.We have not had any previous reported issues of this randomly sorting, but some users have contacted us about this, thinking it is random, because the recorded dates inside each episode are not correct.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Messy FeedHi @xabieraresti,
Could you explain what you mean by
save date
?The plugin offers two sorting options, publish date (when the custom post type podcast episode was published to WordPress) and recorded date (you will find this under Podcast Episode details).

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Messy FeedHi @xabieraresti,
The default sorting order that will most likely get your feed back in order is
Published date
.When you have a moment, try toggling to Published date and see if that’s what you’re looking for.
Let us know if the problem persists and have a good day.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Insert margin below playerHi there @srtajpg,
Thanks so much for the kind words! If you have a moment, would you mind leaving the plugin a review? We’d love to reach more people searching for podcasting and WordPress.
You can add some margins by adding one of these snippets to your
style.css
or from Appearance → Customize → Additional CSS:.podcast_player { margin-bottom: 50px; }
or
.podcast_meta { margin-bottom: 50px; }
We hope that helps. Let us know if you have any other questions and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Have a good day.
Hi @dnlhdt,
I believe we responded to a Zendesk ticket about this. I’m resolving the ticket now, but please let us know if you’re still experiencing this issue.
Have a good day.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Adding MP3 breaks the podcast pageHi @offbrandlego,
Everything good with your new episode?
Unrelated but I saw you added the same artwork to the episode as you have for your general podcast artwork. You can save that step and leave the episode art empty. The podcast platforms will use your general artwork in its place.

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Where are the xml archives?Hi @diego17,
Thanks for the help @netzblogr! Yep, you can find your RSS feed from Podcast → Settings → Feed Details. Out-of-the-box it should be yourwebsite.com
/feed/podcast
