In reply to: Punctuation & TaglinesJames, while I have you on the line –
I’m assuming that my information about not putting punctuation in post titles is correct, and that the same rule holds for page titles ( for the same reasons), correct?
Thanks,

That’s what seems so weird. It had been growing steadily, and nothing changed except the conversion. I guess their is nothing for it but to rebuild.
Kinda makes me question the wisdom of converting to .org.
Thanks again.

That explains the double blog listing.
And, yes, the subscribers were transferred over.

Turns out they don’t offer the service ether, so I’m going to look for a tech savvy friend to do the job.

In reply to: Paying For An Install On My Host of ChoiceMac,
Thanks, but I think you misunderstood my question.
I know that WordPress.com is separate from .org, and offers guided transfer. But their service requires you to use one of their chosen hosts. I’m quite happy with my host and don’t want to do that.
For this reason I’m asking if anyone has experience letting their host (NOT WordPress.com) do the transfer for them. Mine offers that service, but I’d like to see if anyone knows of downsides to letting them do it if they’ve been good and reputable in most other areas of service.
Thanks.
