    Yes, I am ok if other people use it. But a little credit somewhere would be great. Please send me an email in case you need the files.

    Great to see someone from good ol’ madras. Miss the place !! And yes, its my own theme. Though I need to thank Harish for the “d” logo.

    I just tweaked wp-layout.css (WP 1.2) massively to come up with the current theme. And also created a bunch of images/logos/backgrounds and such.

    I have been getting a few emails regarding the menu. I will go ahead, fix a few things and soon release it here. Again, I would appreciate if you could give me credit for that.

    Thanks and its a real relief that it loaded. Could not ever imagine that position: relative would set it all right. Never thought about it until I read through the CSS help pages on W3schools. Yeah, I removed the ipstat thingy too.

    @joeytrimmer:
    Thank you for your comments. I did check my CSS out line by line. And then decided to try position: relative instead of position: absolute. And voila !! it worked. I know using position: relative can have some problems, which I leave it to you all to tell me ??

    Also I had made another little mistake by oversight. I have a page container, and apparently I had used the menu outside the container and that caused some trivial positioning issues.

    I guess its all fixed now, and I am planning to go ahead and iron out the rough edges and release it in the public domain, with due credits of course ??

    Check out the menu and a few linked menus like cellar –> guestbook , deviationz –> guestblock and factory –> shutterbug & matter of fact.

    Hi all:

    I think I have fixed what appeared to be an anomaly. Please let me know if you see it working on multiple browsers (IE/FF/Mozilla/Safari). And I have temporarily fixed the page load time.
    You can see the site here

    I am surprised that it appears shifted to the right, because it appears fine to me here on Firefox 1.0. I will wait for other people to load it on firefox and their comments. Did you try a hard refresh ?

    Thanks

    Apparently, the ipstats connection delays the loading of the menu. The ipstats server can be very slow at times, and it does hamper loading time. Glad that it works in FF. I did try it on Mozilla 1.7.5 and IE 6. I am sure its going to look screwed in Opera, but just cant help that !!

    This just broke down. It was a domino effect, and I don’t have the liberty of time right now to fix things. So i restored back 1.2 and thats that…………..sorry for the misleading post topic. But I will set things right real quick.

    Very clean and simple design, but IMHO the page is way too narrow. And may you could consider using a right/left column and adding some stuff there like the archives etc., and or other links. And maybe you could consider a little lighter version of your background color. And your header looks a little out of place only because your page is too narrow.
    Continue hacking and tweaking ??

    Thank you all for your comments. Another incentive to continually tweak and update my site.

    Yngwin:

    Thank you for your comments. I have now added a .htaccess file on my server and it now uses a utf-8 character encoding.

    With regards to the mime-type for the xhtml 1.1 doctype, I have changed the same to (application/xhtml+xml). However, I find that even this page uses the following. I am unsure (/dont understand) the reason for the same. Can you elucidate ?

    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN” “https://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd”&gt;
    <html xmlns=”https://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml&#8221; xml:lang=”en”>

    Well, the foot is the GNOME icon. All icons on this site are from gnome art.

    I found the solution to it
    linecode, pre
    {
    font-family: Georgia ;
    font-weight: bold;
    font-size: 14px;
    background: inherit;
    }
    blah, blah

    I did try using your above code, but it takes the word to the next line, just like it starting a new paragraph and then it screws up the following lines also.

    I find that the TG code has a == 0 which i guess checks if a post id has a 0 in it. But as i go into my database i find that there are a lot of non-zero comment ids already present in the database. Do i delete all those values from the data base that I think are spam ?
    thanks much
