On my analytics dashboard, I have had red banner for days that says,

This property’s setup is not complete. Settings may be completed for you based on your original Universal Analytics (UA) property, unless you opt out in the connected UA property.”

When I go to the Data stream, it says that there’s No data received in past 48 hours. The web stream details says,

Data collection isn’t active for your website. If you installed tags more than 48 hours ago, make sure they are set up correctly.

This has been this way for days even though I have onboarded Site Kit plugin carefully twice and configured google analytics. The Site Kit dashboard shows no errors. In fact, it says that both UA and GA4 snippets are installed (check the link in “Link to the page I’d need help with:” for screenshots).

So today I decided to view the page source and the Google tag I could see was only the UA. (googletagmanager. com/gtag/js?id=UA-)

I did not see (googletagmanager. com/gtag/js?id=G-…)

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Thanks for reaching out @whydoineedthis. Based on the information you provided what may be happening is the GA4 property or data stream you added within Site Kit doesn’t match that which you’re viewing from your Analytics dashboard on analytics.google.com. Alternatively you have have selected the option for Site Kit not to place a GA4 snippet, or a third party plugin is altering the behavior of any Site Kit placed snippet.

So we can determine more on what may be happening, please share your Site Health information so we can review your setup. After reviewing we can assist you with this further with some troubleshooting suggestions.

Many thanks for sharing the additional information. I checked your site manually and also using the tagassistant.google.com service. From doing so, I can see there is both a UA and GA4 property added, and my site visits are recording.

I can also see the snippets, both a UA and a GA4 snippet are placed as expected via Site Kit. You’ll see this by checking your sites source code. You may wish to search for “www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js” when doing so, see this screenshot which I took from your site.

As we’re limited to Site Kit support here in the plugin forums, you may wish to ask the product experts over at the Analytics Help Center if you’re finding some unusual messages from analytics.google.com. I can confirm that your snippets are placed and working as expected.

Before posting any query to the Analytics Help Center, you may also wish to confirm that you’re seeing data when clicking on the Analytics link within Site Kit. Note also that the below message which you’ve highlighted is not an indication that anything is wrong, it’s stating that there may be some GA4 configurations, which may be optional, are not complete. As mentioned above your GA4 property is recording as expected.

“This property’s setup is not complete. Settings may be completed for you based on your original Universal Analytics (UA) property, unless you opt out in the connected UA property.”

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

Hey James, thanks for your help. Should I see the GA4 property in the source code? The UA one has been there and had no problem with it.

Because I thought the GA4 one starts with G-

Still can’t find the G-RC5…. on my source code.

Thanks for the update @whydoineedthis. You’re correct, a GA4 property does begin with a G- prefix however it won’t always be visible directly in a sites source code. The other tag that was added to your site via Site Kit is a Google Tag, with a GT- prefix (GT-K8***5P). This tag can be used to insert a GA4 snippet on a users site. If you use Tag Assistant and click on this tag, you’ll notice that you’ll find the GA4 snippet within this tag, see this recording from reviewing your site once more.

So to summarize, Site Kit has connected your site to both a UA property and a GA4 property. The GA4 property however is not visible directly in your sites source code, as it’s part of your Google Tag, which is a newer way to combine various Google related tags. Very confusing, but I can confirm you have a valid UA and GA4 property added to your site!

Let me know if you have any further questions on this.

Oh okay. Thanks for being helpful. I have no other queries, For now, I think I’ll just ignore the banners till they migrate.
