In reply to: 2.5 admin backend annoyingThe categories under the post annoys the hell out of me, because now I have to scroll on every post.
The drop down widget stuff is also a step backward from the nice drag and drop.
I also had both sidebars on ONE page, so I could shuffle things around. To do that now takes several extra steps.I haven’t upgraded the main blogs to 2.5 yet – and as it is, I won’t, either. 2.3 works nicely, 2.5 is full of bugs it seems.

In reply to: “Sorry, no posts matched your criteria” after upgradingWhy is this flagged as resolved?
I get the same thing in 2.5 on a clean install from newly created posts – even on the default theme.

In reply to: I don’t like the way 2.5 is goingI can live with it, but I would like the categories on the right hand side, not underneath where I have to scroll to it.
And drag and drop needs to come back on the widgets, sorry. This new way just sucks.

In reply to: WP-OpenID Plugin – Couple errorsMore errors.
Trying to post a comment using *just* the openid (without filling in name/email) results in:
[You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘WHERE comment_post_ID = ’79’ AND openid = 1 AND comment_author_url = ‘https://sil’ at line 1]
I won’t try to fix that from my database, but from IE7 this isn’t working at all.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Fixed Page Width, 3-Column ThemeTo be honest – who still uses 800×600?
Here are the resolution stats for October 200710% of users… that – to me – means 800×600 is pretty much dead.
50% use 1024×768
26% use 1280×1024
3% use 1152×864
8% are unknownI’m sorry, but… 800×600 is just on it’s way out of the door.

In reply to: WP Without Login and Registration-If you go to Options / General, there is a tick in “Users must be logged in to comment” that’s probably what’s causing it. ??
Hope it helps

In reply to: Visible borders around graphicsAgree with Innfinity –
Look for the img section in your style.css and make sure the border is set to 0, that’s all there is to it.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: apostrophe and quotation mark problems after 2.2 upgradeOk this one doesn’t fix it for me. (2.2.3)
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Unwanted slashes when using apostrophesI have the same problem.
In fact, I’m having a LOT of problems.
Wordpress hasn’t worked properly for me since 2.1 and on my main blog I’ve gone back all the way to 2.0.5
Don’t even ask what happened when I upgraded, it was *bad*.
Categories couldn’t be edited, /’s everywhere, in every single old blog article.
Editing them out and saving only resulted in it happening again, so I ended up ripping the guts out of the server and putting 2.0.5 back on.I’ve installed – from scratch – with 2.2.2 and got nowhere.
Same with 2.2.3.
Same with installing 2.2.2 with Fantastico.
Same after upgrading to 2.2.3 after that.It will not go away. I’ve got a bare bones install in there at the moment, and it’s total pants.
Not only do I have the / problem, but on top of this none of the theme previews display either.
Looking at anything to do with themes on www.ads-software.com points you at stuff pertaining to 1.5.
I like wordpress… but… right now I’m thinking of going to other blog software.
