In reply to: Unexpected parse error, T_STRING (again)That worked, you are a star!
The only thing is the ‘next’ and ‘previous’ images do not show up. They have definitely been uploaded, and live in the same folder as the theme.

In reply to: unexpected T_STRING ??Hi, I’m having the same problem, it says
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/blahblah/index.php on line 78
I’ve searched through the code above line 78 and I can’t find anything… maybe I’ve been staring at it too long.
The source code is here: https://www.serialdeviant.org/temp/problem.txt

In reply to: Upgrade 1.5 > 1.5.1I did the updates, I’ve got two installations, and it went fine. Incorporated the RSS bugfix. Seems fine, too.

In reply to: wp-recent-linksDuh. I’m stupid. Thanks.
(I don’t know any PHP aside from that handy ‘include’ command.)Forum: Plugins
In reply to: wp-recent-linksI installed wp recent links 1.3. The installation seems fine, but when I try to load up the wp-recent-links.php page, I get this error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: rp_recentlinks() in /home/username/public_html/weblog/wp-recent-links.php on line 79
From the provided template:
78<h2>Recent Links</h2>
79-
80 <?php rp_recentlinks(12, true, false); ?>
I changed the layout to match my own template, and the error also occurs on the line before rp_recentlinks().
Erm, I’m not sure what’s wrong.Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: first Admin loginHm. Tried it out in IE and the login worked. It doesn’t work in Opera or Firefox, though. Sigh.

In reply to: post comment problemI have a similar problem, except nothing is posted, I just get a 404 error. And that’s it. I’ve tried FTP’ing the wp-comment files over a few times, there’s no change.

In reply to: first Admin loginI just upgraded from WP 1.02 to 1.2. I have three installs of WP.
The upgrade in my first one, weblog/, logs in fine.
The second one, china/, just takes me back to the wp-login page whenever I try to login with the username/password. I’ve tried changing the password in phpmyadmin, clearing my cache and cookies, clicking on the forgot your password link and using the password they give me, all to no avail. (I uploaded all files except wp-layout, wp-config, and index.)
I don’t dare try to upgrade to WP 1.2 on my third weblog yet.
I’m not sure what’s wrong, since I’m using the same files to install all three weblogs. Why it works in one but not another is beyond me.
Help!Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Blogger ContentI have the same problem. The entries appear to have imported just fine, I can see them over FTP, but I can’t find them anywhere in my ‘Edit’ section. I’ve tried searching for them using Opera and IE. No joy.
I’m pretty sure I used the right date and timestamp setting, too.
It’s not vital I import my Blogger entries, since they’re really old, but I thought it would be nice. Any advice would be much appreciated!Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Different directory problemSigh… I think I’m downwards from the beta version (downloaded it from the Sourceforge link, 1.0.2). I guess it won’t work for me.
Also, I now know my webhost doesn’t like us to mess with .htaccess, so I won’t be able to sort out the permalinks anyway.

In reply to: Different directory problemI have a similar problem to Benoit. I saved my WP files in the wordpress/ folder, and want my blog to live in the root directory. There are no options anywhere in my version of WP (downloaded and installed today) that match “Go to your Options page. It should say your WordPress address and Blog address are the same.” I went through all the options links… help.
