Learninglog is designed to have different functions/menus for different user roles.

As a network admin you are neither a teacher nor a learner, so you are not privileged to register learners nor to create assignments.

Thus you have to register (yourself as) teachers/learners. To do so make sure to have enabled “Both sites and user accounts can be registered.” in the “Registration Settings” section inside of the “Network Settings” section of your site. Then go to /register and follow the registration procedure.

Learninglog 2.1.2 is tested up to BuddyPress 1.2.9. BuddyPress 1.5 has some major changes that may not yet be implemented in Learninglog 2.1.2. We apologize for this.

That’s right. The plugin was originaly written in swiss german. Hence, without language file you will get everything in swiss german.

in the administration are navigate to Settings > Options learninglog. it is not possible to change this options for other accounts than yours.

network activation means activation for a multisite network. activation for a singlesite installation is disabled, because it would make no sense.
