Joy. My host is not responding. This is more than worrying. I cannot access ANY of my install’s back-ends.

Yep, looks like it’s my hosting after all. Just tried accessing mine that’s not in a sub and thats doing the same thing.

Yes.Both lead to 404 (or whatever error report that is!!)

Is it worth me changing the password in the DB? I’ve got instructions in front of me although they are not written in very good english!!

No.Both editor or admin login is leading me to this-

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /X2Y/wp-login.php could not be found on this server. Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request

Thats the page that as soon as I put in my details, the error message comes up.

Just a thought, I installed Members plug in to try something that didn’t work.The last thing I did was de-activate it. Could this be it? I can’t access the Editor page either

I second this request. I need the editor role to be able to approve testimonials

Duh!! For some reason I had a “Hide Dashboard” plugin activated!
I have no idea why or where it came from, but I’ve deactivated it, and now the Editor login works exactly as planned!!

I am still massievly struggling here after hours of Googling.

Another posible way around I suppose would be to use a plug in that removes the Appearance/Settings/Plug Ins from the dashboard and let the editors in as Admin.

But (BIG BUT) how would this work if I am needed back in to do any more backend work? If the editor is hidden, how would I access it if I’ve hidden it from the dash?

Exactly that. If I log in as admin it is fine, but if I choose Editor and enter the designated password, it takes me to the home page, and the only option is to edit profile

I forgot to close this though. I didn’t realise I could use html in the widget options (slap my wrist)..I’ve worked it out by using a simple href link! D’oh!!

(Although I did try changing the profile.php link and it didn’t work originally.Ah well)

What I mean by this is that when I select “Edit Profile” it points to wp-admin/profile.php. I wish it to point to a page “Edit-Profile”…

I know this must be possible but I cannot find where to link it in the editor anywhere?
