    Hi Josh

    Thanks for your suggestions. Strangely when I logged on this morning the issue had resolved. The only action I took was to briefly turn Troubleshoot mode on but because the front end started showing css code in place of a banner, (and this is a live site) I turned it off again a few moments later. Then editing worked as normal… Im still none the wiser about what was causing this issue but thankfully its sorted!

    he tells me I already have full access! Theres shell access but Ive never used that before, and dont know how..

    Can you advise where that ip address in the error message comes from? its not the existing server or the new one.

    Also, if you can give me any pointers as to what to try next Ide be grateful.

    sorry esmi if I wasnt clear but yes I have already edited the wp-config to match the new db name, the username, the new pw and the ip supplied by the new host…
