In reply to: New theme (2020) – where is the Block Editor?Comparing the two settings I found that I had ticked off “deactivate the visual editor when writing” in my user-profile. A tiny tick, that was all – I hope that this experience taught me to be VERY careful with what I’m doing in WP ??
Thank you very much for your patience!

In reply to: New theme (2020) – where is the Block Editor?Hi,
I asked a friend for help and made him co-administrator. And his version of the site showed the block-editor!!! That is, the problem has to do with my own settings ??
Now I have work to do: compare his and my settings and – hopefully – find the problem that way.
I’m so grateful for your help and hope, that you’ll find the energy some other time to help beginners like me …
Greetings

In reply to: New theme (2020) – where is the Block Editor?I have jQuery MIgrate + 3 plugins: Akismet Anti-spam; Social Media and Share; UpdraftPlus-Backup/Restore.
No, I haven’t edited the code because that’s far beyond what I’m capable of on my own ??
My php version is 7.4.10 (the site health tool – I was also told, that there are no critical problems on the site).

In reply to: New theme (2020) – where is the Block Editor?I tried to install and activate the plugin but nothing changed.
In the link, you sent me, I noticed this link though, apparently to a problem like mine:
I’ve already tried step 1 (try another browser). If you think I should try step 2 I know a guy, who can help – I dare not do it on my own ??
PS: The theme I’m using is “2020”.

In reply to: New theme (2020) – where is the Block Editor? The site is rather new and so I have only 3 plugins (Akismet Anti-spam; Social Media and Share; UpdraftPlus-Backup/Restore) and Classic Editor is not among them. Yesterday I tried to deactivate them, today I deleted them (logging out, restarting the MacBook). It didn’t help.
When I begin writing I’m told “Start typing text or HTML” (in Danish), not “Start writing or type/to choose a block”, and the +icon shows nothing.
Normally I’m working with Safari but I also tried to open the site in Chrome. It didn’t help …
You’ve been so very helpful??
You see, the icons didn’t show when I stayed on the category page – but when I move to the post page, they’re there!
What a dumb fool, I am!!!!! Of course you never thought of telling me to actually move to a post page – but your screenshot helped a lot.
Thank you!!!
???
Maybe we’re close to a solution, then, because
I see the icons on your screenshot of the site (a post page), but when I take a look on the very same site (apparently a category page) on my Macbook, in Safari, they don’t show …I must have mixed something up, when I made the hierarchy – maybe in the menu?
I’m sorry …
I think the icons belong to the post pages, I don’t want them to show on category pages.
But I can’t see them either on the post or the category pages …
“your”
Oh, sorry, when I check on “you” url, I can see the icons – on this specific site. When I renew the very same site, I can’t, and the address changes to fremtidenivorehaender.dk/?cat=5
