Can anyone tell me what I should change the file permissions to please. Is it different for different things? What should I change the ermssions on my theme files to? Thanks very much.

Thanks but they don’t do upgrades.

Is there any kind soul out there who would be able and willing to upgrade my WordPress installation for me? I know it’s a bit of a cheek but the meds I am on make me so befuddled that I can’t get my head around it, despite having done it in the past. Thanks.

I tried removing the wp-content folder and replacing it with the one I saved yesterday when I upgraded – although I’m pretty sure I replaced it then too. I’m still unable to change my widgets. The blank sidebar message is in both sidebars, covering some of my widgets, and I can’t use any of them. There is also a tiny widget box (which doesn’t work)in the upper right-hand corner of my screen. Surely someone else must be having the same problem?

I don’t know what I did but it seems to be ok now. Thanks.

I’ve even tried disabling widgets and all the plugins except Akismet, but I still can’t get the sidebar to where it should be.

Hi Podz. I tried removing the photo but it doesn’t seem to have made any difference. I’ve tried a few other themes and the sidebar is still dropped. I’ve even tried deleting the wpandreas09 theme to see if that helped, but no go. Please help!

Oops, sorry KaushalSheth. I should read things first.

I hope you didn’t think I was complaining about there not being many themes converted. I’m just excited about widgets and I love trying different themes. Kausalsheth, the problem was that the calendar was to wide, and that every single item in the sidebar had a little box beside it and was more widely spaced than usual, but it might have just been the way I’d put the code into the widget boxes.

Incidentally, it would be really good if there were some more themes that worked with the widgets. One of the things I love about WordPress is having so many themes to choose from, and right now there are about five listed that work. I know that there are bits of code you can add to existing themes, but there must be lots of people (including me) who aren’t that technically minded. Just a thought. :o)

I couldn’t get Blue Horizon to work quite right on my blog. I’ve set up K2 which looks ok, but I have a problems with the ‘asides’.

I have this error when I’m trying to update things like my ‘witty text’ file or input the ‘common spam words’. I’ve tried Firefox and IE. Can anyone shed any light on this please?
