In reply to: [Nelio Popups] Triggering a popup using a Menu Custom Link?Well, if you ever want a beta tester to help test new features in the future, I would be more than happy to help! For now, it works well as it is, and I really think you have made a fantastic plugin. I’m sure it will only get better with time!

In reply to: [Nelio Popups] Triggering a popup using a Menu Custom Link?I have actually figured out what was causing the problem! It was a conflict with the plugin “WP-Optimize”, specifically a setting which minifies the JavaScript files. Once I turned that off, i was able to use the “a[href=”#nelio-popup-####”]” CSS selector where “####” is the popup id number. Then I just added a Custom Link to my menu with the link as “#nelio-popup-####”.
I also noticed that the plugin “WP Polls” causes your popups to not work, although I’m not sure why. Since I really didn’t need that plugin, I decided to deactivate and remove it in favor of keeping your popup plugin active, but you might want to take a look at potential conflicts with that plugin in the future.
There is one other thing I would love to recommend, but I’m not sure if you can implement it, since you are utilizing iframes for your popups. But, if triggering a popup from within another popup, the second popup becomes constrained by the first popup’s iframe. I realize not many people are going to run into this issue, but in my case I am trying to create a sort of “operating system” feel, and I am using popups to simulate “windows” users can open.
I know the Popup Maker plugin doesn’t seem to have this iframe limitation, but I can’t use that plugin because it breaks my website’s user registration form at the moment. Anyway, it’s not really a complaint, as I really love how simple and functional your Nelio Popups are! I think my only issue is that the load times can be a bit long for some popups, but since ou are using iframes to essentially load a new web page, I’m thinking that is unavoidable for now.
Overall, great job! I look forward to seeing what future updates bring for this amazing plugin!- This reply was modified 1 year, 2 months ago by annikaholovatsky.

I have sent the message via a support request! I hope to hear back from you soon!
UPDATE 2: Fixed the user meta data issues by using custom shortcode in my theme’s functions.php file, instead of UM’s “User Meta Shortcode” plugin extension. Everything appears to be working as intended now! This issue is resolved. Hopefully my solutions will help others with similar problems in the future.
UPDADE 1: I traced the issue to the inclusion of UM’s Reset Password form in a Popup Maker window. Removing this form from the popup resolved the cover image and profile data issues.
However, the issue of a logged-in user’s meta data being overwritten within the popup by the data of the profile they are currently viewing persists. I’ll keep trying to resolve this issue and post further updates.
UPDATE 2: I found a solution using a quick functions.php snippet I found here.
Now, I have everything working just the way I wanted. Thanks again for the help earlier!
UPDATE: It works for the first and last names, but I can’t get it to display the user’s avatar using the meta key “profile_photo”.
I’ll keep looking for a solution to this, but for now this seems to be keeping me on the right track. Any more advice is always appreciated.
Thank you!!!! I’ll try that.

In reply to: [Accordion Blocks] How to get Accordions to stay open upon using Back buttonThanks for your response! It turns out that I may have figured out the culprit, but I’m not sure what’s causing it. The browser does seem to remember which accordions are active upon using the back button, but only if you aren’t logged in using an administrator user account. Not sure why this is, but it seems to be working fine for every other user, just not the admins. This includes the HTML anchor functionality when linking from another page back to the accordion items.
I’m sure this is unrelated to your plugin, so it is nothing that you will need to fix. I’m happy with how responsive and easy to use your plugin is. Thanks for the continued support!
Thanks for your response. It turns out that my browser is remembering which accordions are open upon using the back button, just not when logged into an administrator user account. Not sure why, but I’m certain it has nothing to do with your awesome plugin. I love all the features it has. Thank you so much for making it and offering good support.

In reply to: [Accordion Blocks] How to get Accordions to stay open upon using Back buttonUPDATE 4:
I’m not sure if this matters, but I noticed the plugin is untested with WordPress 6.0. Perhaps this is why the plugin stopped working for me? I’ll have to see what the changes between WordPress 5.9 and 6.0 are, in case there is some sort of conflict or change in functionality.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Accordion Blocks] How to get Accordions to stay open upon using Back buttonUPDATE 1:
The back button seems to allow the accordions to stay open when using Mozilla Firefox, but not Microsoft Edge. I have yet to test in Chrome or Safari. I will update with findings after clearing my browser caches and seeing that makes a difference.

UPDATE 2:
Turns out, after clearing the cache from all my installed browsers, none of them remember which accordion items were open upon using the browser’s back button, including Firefox. This pretty much makes my current web page library too tedious to use, so I will need to figure out what is causing this problem. I’ll keep researching it. I’ll keep this topic updated with my findings/solution if I figure this out.Another note is that the accordion HTML anchor links don’t work either. They will either open the accordion, but won’t scroll to the opened item (unless you click it again or turn on the auto scroll option, which I would like to keep disabled) or in the case that it is a link to the HTML anchor from an external page, it will just load the accordion page with all the accordion items closed. It is a pretty frustrating situation, to be sure. I hope I find a solution that works soon. LOL

UPDATE 3:
So, it turns out that if a user is logged out, the accordion items will stay open upon using the back button (ONLY in Firefox, though. The other browsers do not seem to save the accordion open-closed status), though the HTML anchors are still not working as intended. I’m wondering if a recent browser update may have messed up this feature of the plugin? Or perhaps it is a conflict with Ultimate Members Plugin, since that is what I use as the infrastructure for my users account data. I’ll keep digging…- This reply was modified 2 years, 5 months ago by annikaholovatsky.
