In reply to: When it is going to release 1.5 full version? There’s no schedule because if you have schedules you fall behind and people get antsy. I would say, expect nothing before next Christmas, and then if it arrives earlier it’ll be a nice surprise ??

In reply to: Why can’t you…(about spammers/flooders)Same here. Renamed my comments file, still get spam. But it would be a nice idea if it worked.

??
orangeguru: what you say on your own blog about MT is entirely up to you, I just didn’t think the official wordpress site was the right place for it. Maybe you could call off the dogs now?

In reply to: Over 300 hits from Inktomi/Yahoo User Agent in 1 hrSometimes bots go nuts – just block it temporarily and maybe write to Yahoo asking what the deal is here. Most search traffic comes from Google rather than Yahoo so it shouldn’t hurt you too much.

In reply to: SixApart buys LiveJournalProbably the worst thing about this macmanx user is that he makes unfounded and irrelevant personal attacks on individuals. I have of course registered, that’s why it says ‘Member’ underneath my username, and why I am able to post ?? If you took the trouble to click on that you’d see that I don’t ‘scour the forums looking for someone to attack or insult’ – in fact you won’t find any other examples of me criticising other users. It’s unfortunate the same can’t be said for you.
All I did here was question the appropriateness of crossposting anti-MT posts from a personal blog to the official WordPress support forum. I’m not quite sure why that seems to have offended so many people, but obviously MT is a very touchy subject so I will be careful never to mention it in the future ??

In reply to: SixApart buys LiveJournalWoah, calm down there. I suppose you think the only reason anyone would defend Six Apart is if they were a stock holder.
MT is no threat to the growth of WordPress, so why has this thing got you all running scared? Why do you have to run something else down to make yourselves look better? Where’s your faith in WP?

In reply to: SixApart buys LiveJournalNot the link, no. If you actually click on orangeguru’s username and go to his blog you will find his little list repeated there word for word.
If that’s not crossposting I’d like to know what is.

In reply to: SixApart buys LiveJournalWell, I thought it was pretty childish, especially when Matt’s done his best to maintain good relations with Six Apart. Speaking for myself, I think WordPress holds its own and doesn’t have to put down other tools to gain more users. Many of you obviously feel differently.
I’m also a bit surprised at this new fashion for crossposting between blogs and forum threads, but far be it from me to deprive you of your hits ??

In reply to: Theme/Style methods changed?Wow. The upgrade routine will take all the template modules I’ve already made off my own bat (header.php, footer.php, archives.php, loop.php, links.php, etc.) and automatically convert them into a theme? My stylesheet too?
Trouble is, I don’t want them to be a theme, because not every page on my site uses WordPress and I want my header and footer includes available at the root. So am I going to have to stay with 1.22?
Forum: Everything else WordPress
In reply to: SixApart buys LiveJournalIs there any reason why you chose to post your anti-MT invective here rather than your own blog? Apart from the probability that you’d get more readers here? It doesn’t seem to me to have anything to do with WordPress support. Matt himself has always emphasised that MT is not the Enemy.
Please, keep this kind of thing to your own site in future and don’t involve www.ads-software.com in your vendettas.

In reply to: bugs bugs bugsDon’t worry, some people here get annoyed by anyone actually daring to ask a question ??
Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: bugs bugs bugsThat’s a very good question.
Telling you to search for mosquito assumes you have been around here for months and know that is the name of the bug tracker. But if you knew the name of the bug tracker, you would hardly be posting here to request that they install one!
In this case, as observed above, the location of the bug tracker is pretty well-hidden and a simple link to mosquito.www.ads-software.com would have been much more helpful and less patronising than yet another injunction to search. A link from the sidebar, or even in the top navigation, would be best of all. It’s a shame the forum redesign couldn’t incorporate that or a link to the codex.

In reply to: WP 1.5 Template system questionThis feature seems to be in a state of flux and I’ve requested an explanation on another thread. In 1.22 and earlier versions, you can call wp-blog-header.php from any php file in the root and any wp function will work in that file. I have a header.php, a footer.php, and various other includes making up the index page of my own site. But they now seem to be saying these files have to be put in a theme directory. I say ‘seem’ because frankly I’m not finding the current explanation very clear. Maybe you’ll be able to make more sense of it?

In reply to: the_category_image not working anymore…Anything that echoes a single category seems prone to breakage, but as this is in a nightly build I expect it will be fixed in the final release.
