Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Page Management: pages gone!I don’t know have a specific idea as to why this might be happening, but it does seem like it has to be a database issue.
Have you made any significant changes to your blog? (added a plugin or something?)
Your best bet at this point is to upgrade to the latest version.

In reply to: more tag won’t work and yes, i did search…I had the same problem with wp 2.0.1 but 2.0.2 fixed the problem right away. Are you using the most recent version?
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: The error message I got:You probably don’t need to do a completely new reinstall. You just need to keep replacing the files that are throwing errors. Can you bypass the wireless connection and use a wired one? That might help. (in this case delete /wp-admin/post.php and replace it).
The problem is certainly corrupted files, no doubt about it. The only way to fix it is to completely delete them from the server and re-upload them.
Another note, be sure you don’t open the php files in a word processer (like Word). They will add spaces and junk that will cause all kinds of problems. Use notepad on windows.

In reply to: The error message I got:Here is what appears to be the problem. You need to do a completely clean installation of the wp files. When you originally uploaded them a few may have been corrupted.
So you should completely delete ALL the files off of your server. Then, (if it were me) I would unzip the files from the original download from the wordpress site and upload them all again. Be sure to edit your wp-confing.php file with the proper settings (using your host name NOT “localhost”)
Be sure that your FTP program is uploading the files in “automatic” mode (that usually works fine).
Then try to acess the installation page.
In short, yes you need to replace the default-filters.php file with a “clean” version. (Just delete it off of your server and re-upload. BUT you MUST delete it off of the server first).
