Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: /blog/wp-admin redirects to /blog/wp-admin/install.phpi did get another version of phpMyAdmin installed.
It revealed that wp-options and about 5 other tables were in some sort of inconsistent state. I was able to repair each.
Things seemed better for a few moments… but I could not create new posts… and now I can’t login. I’m expecting my provider will end up rebooting the mysql server… since it’s quite flaky now (can’t get into phpMyAdmin anymore).
Blog is now down completely :-\Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: /blog/wp-admin redirects to /blog/wp-admin/install.phpI typically use a wordpress plugin for db admin and backups, etc.
I have an old install of phpmyadmin… but it doesn’t appear to be able to do any more than login to the db… but displays a blank page.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: /blog/wp-admin redirects to /blog/wp-admin/install.phpI moved to another machine, from which I was able to login. Revisiting the original machine, it now prompted for login on safari… and took me right to dashboard in firefox… as it should have.
Things are still not right though.
I created a post and tried to save it as a draft and got the following error:You attempted to edit a post that doesn’t exist. Perhaps it was deleted?
Any ideas?

In reply to: Auto upgrade from 2.7 to 2.7.1 doesn’t workFound a thread that suggested deactivating the auto-update-plugin and upgrade went smoothly ??

In reply to: Auto upgrade from 2.7 to 2.7.1 doesn’t workNot working for me as well…
I had an auto-upgrade plugin that worked just fine. Now, the feature is part of Word Press proper… and it doesn’t work. That was a nice upgrade. Great job testing :-\
So, is there a workaround? My provider does not allow me to muck around with .htaccess.
Is this fixed in 2.7.1? Or will I be running into this everytime there is an upgrade?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Stats not workingI was able to access my stats from another machine for a while. Unfortunately, it too is now prompting me for a password… all while simultaneously displaying some information about top posts and searches, etc as described above.
Help!Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Stats not workingOk…
Just got out of Firefox… and relogged into the blog admin
The stats channel is showing a login screen on the left side of the channel… and top posts…. top searches… most active on the right.
I’m obviously logged in…
The stats are obviously logged in (if it can display the posts and searches)…
So… what gives?
Doesn’t sound like a config issue or it wouldn’t be able to display anything.
Thoughts?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Stats not workingI upgraded to WP 2.6.5 prior to installing wordpress stats. It works much of the time, but will periodically prompt me to login to view the stats… while i’m logged into the admin dashboard?
Currently, it’s showing my ‘top posts’ on the upper right…. but requesting my login and password on the left side of the channel.
Additionally, when I do provide my credentials, it tells me ‘Incorrect Password’.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advanceForum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Theme Changed, Now Nothing DisplaysLooked into this… seems like file permissions are the same between the functioning default and the non-functioning Sodelicious (and others).
Is there a way to get some logging / debugging information so as to get a better feel for what’s going on?
Thanks!Anthony

In reply to: Botched Installation. System Semi-FunctionalHmmm… is right.
As I recall, I didn’t get the Yahoo! provided version of Word Press. ie… I didn’t click create a blog. I downloaded it from this site… and ftp’d it up to my server. So… my Automatic Upgrade plugin upgraded a generic version. It would likely have been much easier… and might have eliminated the “you don’t have enough database priveleges” message that caused my initial issues.
Anyway… thought this might be helpful info?
I might still be hosed by the Yahoo provided plugin on a Yahoo hosted system though?Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Botched Installation. System Semi-FunctionalYup… Yahoo!
No mention of .htaccess
I wish i had access to .htaccess for a number of other reasons….Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Botched Installation. System Semi-FunctionalOk… making progress. Thanks!!!!!!!
With permalinks disabled… I can view the individual posts ie… blog/p=23
When I re-enable permalinks… and try to hit blog/descriptive-url/ it breaks again?
Back to the default theme… didn’t seem to make any difference (except for the look)… same behavior
I even tried setting permalinks back to the default structure… or other structures… to get these re-published. No dice…Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Botched Installation. System Semi-FunctionalI had not.. .but have done so…
Unfortunately, this did not fix things.
Still seeing the same behavior. Only the blog homepage is visible ??
By the way… I am using the SEO title plugin… I mention this because the Permalink page gave me the option to have more descriptive directory structure.
