So after checking across platforms (smacking myself for not doing it sooner) it appears the wp-andreas09 css IS clean for both Firefox and IE as long as you’re on a Windows machine. The css problems came from IE for Mac, in which the columns were just completely akimble. Odd for sure, but still a problem I’d like to remedy, unless there are few enough IE users for Mac that it won’t be a problem.

If anyone has any suggestions as to how to get my banner in the center instead of hanging out there please let me know ?? I’m toying around with the idea of just increasing the margin on the lefthand side, but I would love for the banner to remain in the center regardless of screen resolution as I know setting the margin will affect different user’s view of the site ??

Sorry about not posting a link earlier. Here’s what my site look like with Andreas09. None of the images appear to be too wide for the sidebars:

I even deleted the modified image I had placed in the theme, and I still get the desheveled layout. Firefox still shows the site perfectly, but it’s IE that’s giving me the problem. I would usually just leave it as IE’s problem, but I know most of the people reading my site are using IE.

Thanks for the resources Moshu, I’ll go ahead and give them a read in the next week and see what I can find.

Mmmmmm, that’s a bit unfortunate. I’ll let this post hover here and see if it picks up any more replies, but I’ll also start toying around with Andreas09 to see if I can get it to do what I want. As I said before, any resources on manipulating CSS to create sidebars would be greatly appreciated. If I can figure out how to create my own, that might solve my problem, provided it’s not too difficult.

Thanks MOshu. As I said earlier I realized I had it in the wrong place, but there’s no function to delete a post once it’s made. As helpful as the support forums are, I think they still need a bit of work simplifying how to post and where to post correctly.

But I digress; I’ve searched with Google, and other search engines as Google is limited. They all point towards the LiewCF.com version or some other modified content, sidebar, sidebar theme. I’m posting here because I’m hoping someone had the knowledge to possibly convert the 2 column Kubrick to a 3 column sidebar, content, sidebar since I haven’t been able to find it “in the wild” on the net.

Sorry, I just realized that I posted this in the wrong area. I meant to put it in THeme, but accidently put it in INstallation. I have done a search here on the SUpport Forums, but haven’t yet found anything that has helped. Perhaps my searching skills are poor, but I copied this thread over in the Theme area, so hopefully I’ll find something there.

After some searching I have found 3 column Kubrick themes on the forum, but I posted this because all of them are content, sidebar, sidebar. I want the content in the middle ??

It seems to be working well now, thanks Dave. Just have to play around with the options to get the description to show up and I’ll be pleased as punch.

    Thanks for you help!

The beauty of WordPress is that there’s nothng special you have to do to generate the XML feed. Just post and the blogging engine automatically generates an XML feed to be read by RSS Aggregators. People just have to enter your URL into a reader and they’ll pull up your XML feed. You can make things a little easier by going to one of the online aggregators and getting one of those nifty little “orange buttons” you’ talking about or a subscribe button to place on your site. That will let less tech savvy people know you ahve a feed.

Well David, you haven’t quite rescued me yet, but you’re pretty darn close ??

I installed your CG packa nd got the quickPHP up as well. Everything looks good, the QuickPHP and the CG_FeedRead have both been activated, and I inserted the php call for getSomeFeed with the correct rss feed and this is what I have:

    https://www.techsavvyed.net/?page_id=30

Any thoughts on the problem? I tried deleting that extra space before the php, but it keep inserting it when I publish the page. Other than that, I have no idea why the plugin won’t work, unless I need to CHMOD the cache_feedread folder to something other than 755.

That’s the problem I’m having then!

When I write in the function to call the php it just shows up as text; brilliant, thanks ??

Now I need to go find a php execution plugin to allow me to call it from within the page content itself. Perhaps this will help you with understanding the “intimidation” factor of dealing with adding features to WordPress. Up until now if I wanted to implement a feature all I needed to do was install one plugin. From what you’ve described it sounds like I have to install no fewer than three plugins to get one job done. That is where the intimidation comes in ??

To be honest, I saw your plugin package, but was slightly intimidated by all of the pieces and what would be useful. I’ll go ahead and download and give it a try. I’m using the rssLinkList plugin right now and it’s just not working at all. I try to call the information from a post and I get nothing ??
