I “fixed” the vertical issue, by using the custom css, thanks. I think the page looks better with the three related products laid out horizontally rather than vertically because they can all fit on one horizontal row and not take up so much white-space.

I haven’t been able to fix the navigation on the Shop page though. I have the plugin WP-PageNavi as well as WooCommerce 2.0.4 and Wootqiue 5.5.5, could WP-PageNavi be causing the problem?

I tried disabling WP-PageNavi and clearing my cache and everything but that doesn’t seem to get rid of the two navigation bars at the bottom of the page.

If you scroll to the bottom of this page you will see what I’m talking about: https://www.laptopdealscentral.com/shop/

    Hi,

I would recommend the WordPress SEO Plugin by Yoast: https://yoast.com/wordpress/seo/

I believe there is also a video tutorial website for the plugin.

You may need to hire an SEO consultant or online marketing firm to take the website to the next level though. I noticed that the pages load kind of slow and the titles and content aren’t yet optimized for the search engines. You could use this list as a guide to online marketing services: https://online-marketing-services-review.toptenreviews.com/

Or you could also search for local companies to work with you in person. I know that there are a lot of SEO companies in India and Asia.

To do the SEO work yourself you can gain more knowledge of SEO from a video tutorial website like Lynda.com and then try reading ‘The Art of SEO’. You use the SEO techniques in conjunction with the WordPress SEO Plugin by Yoast.

Good luck with your online business!

When I said ‘thanks’ on March 19, 2013 the name of my website was edited removed (from the first reply and second bullet point).

It read: ‘The title with the follow buttons underneath…”.

But then someone else edited the post a second time on or after March 19, 2013 to put my website name back in at the start of the second bullet point… but it’s not even the same as it was originally..

Yes, but the post was edited to what I had requested last week. But then another person edited it again to what they thought it was originally, but it’s not even the same as what it was to begin with. I’m sorry but that just doesn’t really make sense.

I guess I might have to file a request with Google with regards to the search results but that would be disappointing…

For the record this is a case to use a 302 redirect so that the search engines will index the original attribute page. Not a 301.

    Thread Starter aplusr

    (@aplusr)

For now I’ll probably do a 301 Redirect to the “Shop” page with the attribute already selected though.

I updated to Wootique 5.5.5 but the page links at the bottom and the related products feature are still vertical. I deleted the woocommerce.php file for custom themes as I don’t have a custom theme I’m using Wootique as I mentioned.

    Hi Jay,

I went to ‘Update Framework’ from the Wootique panel but it says I have the latest version: 5.5.3. I also tried installing the file manually after downloading it from woothemes.com but the install failed because the entire file already exists.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

    I used this: https://docs.woothemes.com/document/third-party-custom-theme-compatibility/

The products are showing for me but I have 1 lingering issue I think.

    Thread Starter aplusr

    (@aplusr)

The page links for the products went vertical (they used to be horizontal). Same with the related products, they are now listed vertically when they used to be horizontal on a specific product page.

    That last post was incorrect.

Okay never-mind, it looks like WooCommerce already has the ‘ <a target=”_blank” href=” ‘ I just needed to add all of the unique code in between. (without the a tags).

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I was not looking to promote my website here, I wanted advice and feedback from the WordPress community which I think is good.

I agree that it is not beneficial to delete posts, that’s not what I want. I want to change the name of the link (to something like ‘website’ or ‘here’ instead of my homepage title so it stops outranking my own website in the search results. I was unaware that this would happen and I am fairly new to WordPress and SEO…

The thread I am referring to is located here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/laptop-deals-website-v10?replies=3

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

    Sincerely,

    Andrew
