    Does anyone have the code I could use to adjust the template with the PREG_REPLACE functions? Could I just copy and paste this?

    I managed to find a plugin that allows me to open the external link in a new tab: WooCommerce Improved External Products

    But still no luck using the full <a> tag code.

    I used the eBay front page, but I guess that was a bad example because there is not as much information in the URL. When I link to an actual product using only the HREF portion of the link it doesn’t go to the correct location. I compared the three in a .htm file (the original non affiliate link, the full affiliate link in <a> tags and the affiliate link using only the HREF portion.

    The original and the full affiliate link go to where I want it to go but the one with only the HREF portion isn’t going to the custom location that I chose. The HREF one also doesn’t open in a new tab or window from my website because it’s just what’s in the first set of quotes I think.

    Hi,

    Thanks for responding.

    An example of the HTML (<a>) code is:

    I forgot to use the code tags in my original post which has ruined the formatting.

    I discovered that what I’m looking for is called ‘Layered Navigation’ and there are a few wordpress plugins available for it.

    I’ve temporarily gotten around the problem by rejecting my child theme in the CDN tab of W3 Total Cache. This was solution was provided by tech support at MaxCDN.

    Performance (W3 Total Cache) -> CDN Tab -> Advanced-> Rejected files: wp-content/themes/twentyeleven-child/*

    So I’ve enabled the CDN again and my CSS modifications are working but any modifications I make will be excluded from the CDN ??

    I’ve disabled the CDN and now the website looks the way I want it to but I would prefer not to do this as I’v paid for the CDN….

    I’m using MaxCDN but the ‘purge cache’ button does not work. It sends me in an endless loop asking:

    Are you sure you want to do this?

    Please try again.

    I modified the menu color for all browsers and backup, disabled W3 Total cache (temporarily while I make modification) and cleared the google chrome cache and it changed to the color I want.

    Mozilla Firefox changed as soon as I disabled w3 total cache. The clear cache function for the plugin didn’t work while it was enabled, I had to actually deactivate the plugin for a while.

    Thanks!

    Sorry, I think I was having a cache problem. I disabled W3 total cache temporarily while I edit the css, and cleared my web browser history and now I can see it is back in the right place.

    I also deleted an invisible character before #branding that was apparently producing a strange error.

    Thanks!

    Hi Christine,

    Modifying the top and bottom values doesn’t change the location of the search box unfortunately. I’ve cleared the cache but the search box stays in the same position

    I’ve created a Twenty Eleven child theme and got rid of the gray bar but now my search field has fallen to the middle of the page!

    Here is my style.css:

    /*
    Theme Name: Twentyeleven Child Theme
    Description: Child theme for the twentyeleven theme
    Author: Bob
    Template: twentyeleven
    */

    @import url(“../twentyeleven/style.css”);

    #branding {
    border-top: none;
    padding-bottom: 10px;
    position: relative;
    z-index: 2;
    }

    appearance->editor->style.css is where I’ve been trying to remove the header
