I found this (closed) topic regarding the error, but did not find any .htaccess file in my plugins dir.

I had the same issue but was able to fix it by disabling the “WordPress SEO by Yoast” plugin. Reinstalling it did not help, so I decided to simply skip using it for now. Pity since it’s one of the better SEO plugins out there :-/

If anybody having had the same issue gets it to work properly, please let me know!

Agreed, I personally don’t have any use for IP based limiting, but limiting based on roles is super useful!

You are absolutely right, I must say we have had nothing but problems with our current hosting provider (Strato), and this is the last straw.
