Anything you type into that box will be wrapped around the download bar as a “style” element – if you look at the page source you will see how this applies.

What I can’t do is advise you on the appropriate CSS for your theme.

That was my fault, I didn’t specify correct CSS. You should try adding something such as…

text-align: center

As for the large space, that will down to the CSS used for your theme.

That’s the option yes. Simply put, for example, align="center" in the box and save it and it will apply to the links.

Responsive.. ok. Go into Profiles and scroll down to where the video size is specified. Under this is a tick box named “Dynamically resize”. Is this ticked?

There is already a box in the options screen to specify any CSS for the links, so I’d recommend using that.

Are you using responsive output for the video?

I’m not sure what you mean Jon – there isn’t any CSS applied, by default, to the download bar.

I suspect any style issues are a result of your current theme. Can you provide a link to where it’s displaying wrong?

The download bar does have a CLASS of vye_links so you can use that in your CSS file to set default styles, if you wish.

I doubt it will ever happen. The video is feed from YouTube complete with those ads. Even if we worked out how to remove them I strongly suspect they’ll be against the YouTube usage T&Cs and any access would be pulled.

But, yeah, if we could and it was all “above board” then we would ??

Any advertising on the video is added by YouTube themselves and, unfortunately, we have no control over it. If the video is one of your own then you have the option, I believe, to switch it off within the settings of the YouTube site.

Unless YouTube have changed the default settings I can’t see why it should autostart – certainly the code being generated didn’t include anything to cause it.

Have you tried adding autostart=no to the shortcode?

e.g. [youtube autostart=no]videoid[/youtube]

That will force the autostart off. Please let me know if that works.

PS. I too was testing it on Chrome on Macbook, so I don’t think it’s that causing it.

I’ve just checked your site and the videos are not auto-starting – I’m using Chrome. Have you resolved the problem?

We’ll look into this – documentation on using this is still suppied by YouTube so there be a disconnect on whether this is or isn’t the correct method. Certainly we’ll make a decision for the next release and make the appropriate changes.

The best thing to do is to switch off the API checking in the options – they can sometimes, erroneously, cause the plugin to think a video no longer works. This is an issue with the API sometimes not responding but the next release of our plugin should cope with it better.

Of course, using the WP embed is a simple method of embedding but the options are limited. However, if this is all you need then it would always be the recommended solution.

Yes, unchecking that option would have been our suggestion. This simply removes the YouTube button. For the next release we’ll be reviewing this code and try and resolve issues being experienced – not sure why but only some people end up with a broken editor!

Are you able to provide a screenshot of your editor buttons? I’m wondering if you have something else enabled that may be interfering?
