    To fix the problem temporarily, I installed the plugin “WP Downgrade” and downgraded WordPress to the previous version 5.4.2. It’s working again now.

    I created a category with 2 items. Nothing showed up any where so I figured out the shortcode to make the category show but when clicking on an item to read more i got an error that it couldn’t be found.
    I had tried it on an older site and thought something might be wrong with it so i did a new install of wordpress elsewhere to try it and had the same problems.
    I have taken the plugin out but when I have some time in a couple days I will try it again and then send a link so you can look.
