In reply to: Infinite redirect when trying to access subsite dashboardCalled goDaddy. Tech noticed my htaccess file conflicted with a .htaccess file that was hidden to me. Showed me how to see hidden files in cPanel, changed .htacces to .htacces.old and then renamed my htaccess (with appropriate code) to .htacces and it worked.
Also getting a 500 – internal server error
Using goDaddy Windows hosting WordPress It worked fine before lunch and when I came back I got a 500 – Internal server error. Looked through support in wordpress but the only thing I found was something about changing from FastCGI PHP 5.x” to just “PHP 5.x” but don’t know where to do that. Just prior to the proble I uploaded an image to alter the nav bar and did a change in the css, but I’ve done that sort of thing many times with other themes. It never caused a problem.

In reply to: 2 Home Pages with Static PageI did as debpro, wound up with two home pages after creating a static home page. I tried bindanaku but eliminated all but one link to pages. Then I saw this line just above the wp_list_pages tag:
<strong><li class="<?php echo $highlight; ?>"><a>">Home</a></strong>
I cut it and the second home page link went away. This was using Green Theme 1.0 by Kasper Solberg. Seems to work fine now, but if it blows up I’ll come back and add caveat.

In reply to: Wanted to have a single blog entry on a page?I think this is similar to the question I was going to ask…but I’m not sure.
What we wanted was to have a few digest versions of posts on the main page and have the rest of the post reached by link.
I tried a couple of things but they don’t seem practical. One was to truncate the post and link it to its own page. This looked like a nightmare to maintain.
We’re new and don’t have the right vocab for finding the answer. Can someone provide a little direction?
