  • Similar problem – I updated Yoast SEO and could get into the backend but visiting the site presented a blank white page. Disabled Yoast and back to normal. A side effect of this has been the ongoing problem that I have been trying to fix with Simple WP Member Login where the members kept getting kicked out and having to have their password reset all the time. Once I disabled Yoast that problem went away as well. I haven’t upgraded to WP 4.9 yet.

    Thanks so much for responding. I have just sorted out the problem. Running WordPress in its own directory. So in case anyone else has the same issue, my mistake was in changing the path in wpXX_options on siteurl and home. In options using phpmyadmin I needed the /wp/ in the path for the siteurl and not in the path for home. Working fine now. Thanks again.
